Research Performed experiments
using multicusp ion sources. Plasma generation was achieved by dc power
discharge using a tungsten filament or by radio-frequency power supply
using an rf antenna. High voltage power supplies were used for accelerator
systems. Experiments involved measuring the current, the emittance, the
axial energy spread and species of the positive or negative ion beam.
Simulations Executed computer simulations
of 2-D ion beam trajectory code, IGUN and AXCEL. The result from this code
would eventually lead to design and construction of accelerator systems
for focused ion beam system, ion lithography system among others. Also
familiar with the 3-D code KOBRA-3D.
