Hi There!

  • So finally you decided to visit my Home Page - it is about time! Since you are here most likely you know who I am but just in case that you are a lost wanderer who stumbled upon my page and would like to find out more about me, my name is Slava Spektor. I was born in Russia and spend first 15 years of my life in Kishinev - the Capital of Moldova (this of course does not tell anything to most of you, but it is a very beautiful little town. Here is a small collection of photos of the town. If you like these photos and would like to find out more about my town please visit Virtual Kishinev homepage).
  • My father immigrated to Israel in 1990 and my mom immigrated to USA in 1991. Since then Los Angeles became my permanent home. At least that is what I thought. Upon finishing high school I got accepted to UC Berkeley. So, for the next 5 years of my life I moved north. I got my B.S. in Nuclear Engineering and Material Science in December '98 and then stayed to work for proffesor A.K.Oppenheim of Mechanical Engineering Department on problems of controlled combustion. Meanwhile I got accepted to Princeton (plus Mit, Stanford, and UC Berkeley, but still did not get into Caltech - darn; "not that I planned to go there anyway :)") in the department of Mechanical and Aerospace engineering and that is where I am going next. Please see what's new with me. I will try to update it as often as my laziness will alow it.
  • And that is where I live right now
