So finally you decided to visit my Home Page - it is about time! Since you are here most likely you know who I am but just in case that you are a lost wanderer who stumbled upon my page and would like to find out more about me, my name is Slava Spektor. I was born in Russia and spend first 15 years of my life in Kishinev - the Capital of Moldova (this of course does not tell anything to most of you, but it is a very beautiful little town. Here is a small collection of photos of the town. If you like these photos and would like to find out more about my town please visit Virtual Kishinev homepage).
My father immigrated to Israel in 1990 and my mom immigrated to USA in 1991. Since then Los Angeles became my permanent home. At least that is what I thought. Upon finishing high school I got accepted to UC Berkeley. So, for the next 5 years of my life I moved north. I got my B.S. in Nuclear Engineering and Material Science in December '98 and then stayed to work for proffesor A.K.Oppenheim of Mechanical Engineering Department on problems of controlled combustion. Meanwhile I got accepted to Princeton (plus Mit, Stanford, and UC Berkeley, but still did not get into Caltech - darn; "not that I planned to go there anyway :)") in the department of Mechanical and Aerospace engineering and that is where I am going next. Please see what's new with me. I will try to update it as often as my laziness will alow it.
