Subsidence and sinkholes are direct consequences of water wells, oil wells and mining. Some local tremors also result. So what? What are the alternatives?
We get thirsty and have other basic needs.
It is not as if a windmill pump, on a farm or ranch, set off the San Francisco Earthquake.
Boon to mankind
If this is true, then it is a great boon to mankind.
It means that we can now trigger quakes to relieve the built up stresses.
We no longer have to wait for stresses to build up to the point where we have a "Big One".
We could trigger a whole bunch of small quakes with minimal damage in order to accommodate the needed slippage between the plates.
