Does anyone know how much fallout Taiwan received? I am concerned about goods coming from Taiwan and China. Does anyone know if this is a valid concern? Most baby items come from one or the other.

Officials in New Taipei City said the municipal government has activated Level 3 Contingency Operations to cope with any possible disaster situation. They have also maintained contact with the AEC in order to continue monitoring the situation. Upon receiving a notice from the AEC, the city government will also notify all neighborhood chiefs to relay the message through local public address systems.
The officials also urged all people in the most populous city in Taiwan to continue listening to radio or TV news broadcasts for public announcements or notices. When necessary, notices will be issued to ask people to immediately find shelter — stay at home or inside buildings, closing all doors and windows in order to reduce exposure to radioactive materials. All clothes exposed to nuclear radiation should be gathered and turned over to the municipal Department of Environmental Protection for eradication.
Officials at the municipal disaster center also said the city government has adequate stockpiles of products like iodine tablets and anti-radiation packs for emergency relief workers and residents in affected districts. There are presently 100,000 iodine tablets in storage, they added.

The reader may recall that the Kenyan born Barack Obama declared the US Strategic Drug Stockpile unnecessary soon after usurping the office of POTUS.
The US supply of KI (Postassium Iodide) was thrown away or sold for 'walking arround money', long before the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster.
Obama gave the 'all clear' sign, and then IMMEDIATELY evacuated with HIS family to South America.

You can buy potassium iodide in many forms and strengths in many health food stores and all over the internet now. Go get some and store it yourself. I don't depend on the govt for my safety when it comes to nuclear issues. The Nuclear industry seems to have our "leaders"by the short and curlies...or in their pockets.

An Atomic Energy Council (AEC) official said Sunday (March 13) that the radiation fallout from Japan's nuclear power plant explosion has had absolutely no impact on Taiwan.
Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou asked government agencies to maintain continuous monitoring over the radiation leaks while the municipal government of New Taipei (Xinbei) City urged people living and working in the city, where two of Taiwan's nuclear power plants are located, not to panic.
Chairman Tsai Chuen-horng of the Cabinet-level AEC said in the afternoon that the radiation level at Japan's unclear power plant at Fukushima has been brought under control.

April 8, 2011 – Two more countries namely Australia and Montenegro will give Taiwan a visa-free treatment, according to President Ma Ying-jeou.

Politics is a part of any risk assessment, as is moral hazard. For any conceivable radiation emergency, The USA political hazard and the USA moral hazard can only be considered as Extremely High. The reactions of the USA government, International Nuclear Industry and International Press have highlighted the Political Risk and Moral Hazard Risk.
The primary radioactive health risk facing USA citizens is the discontinuation of the National Strategic Drug program. Thus, in the event of any nuclear emergency, there are NO anti-radiation drugs on hand.

I think this is a valid concern. Huge amounts of baby clothes, gear, toys, baby bottles etc. are made in China/Taiwan. Can someone weigh in on this? Should we be worried about exposing our children to fallout this way?
