Experts Say Fukushima 'worse' than Chernobyl...May Have To Evacuate Parts of Tokoyo
Experts say Fukushima 'worse' than Chernobyl
"Experts estimate the radiation leaked from Fukushima nuclear plant will exceed that of Chernobyl. At least one billion becquerels of radiation continue to leak from Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant each day even though it is now more than five months after the March earthquake and tsunami that damaged the facility."
"Experts say that the total radiation leaked will eventually exceed the amounts released from the Chernobyl disaster that the Ukraine in April 1986. This amount would make Fukushima the worst nuclear disaster in history."
"[...] The need to evacuate parts of the sprawling capital of 35 million may have once seemed an incredible prospect but some experts say the possibility can no longer be ignored [...]"

The levels measured around Tokyo at one point were 40 times above normal but have receded to 10 times. That amounts to roughly the same dose as a chest or abdominal CT scan.
"My instinct tells me it is probably not a health concern for the long term," said Dr. John Chute, a cancer biology expert at Duke University School of Medical Center. But because radiation is so poorly understood, Chute said taking steps to prevent exposure just makes sense.
"If it were me, I'd stay indoors."

Your "EXPERT" quote was written and posted a few days immediately after the earthquake and tsunami in Japan! This is not a current quote and does not reflect current events in Japan...or on the West Coast of North America. This quote was written BEFORE ANY RADIATION reached the West Coast of North America.
My post reflects current events...what is happening NOW in Japan.
Surprise it's old but history tells of contamination
Yes the link indicated date of story. I was pointing out what the expert was saying early in crisis and how he was saying it would be a precaution to stay indoors in Tokyo with background radiation increasing it would be an assumption on my part that long lived radionuclides were deposited leading to the current situation of independent research testing challenging govt data...
OK, I Understand Now... X30 Years Inside...Got It!!!
Sorry, I misunderstood your post. I thought you were Anonymous (not verified) ====== attempting to use old information to refute what is happening currently in Japan. I am having trouble keeping my Anonymouses (Anonymi) straight.
I understand now! Yes, how can we stay inside for 30 years???...the half-life of Cs-137 and the expiration of Cs-134.
So...Rx For A Healthy Life In Japan
1. Stay Inside.
2. Don't Breathe the Air.
3. Don't Drink the Water.
4. Don't Eat the Food.
And all will be well...
Wonder if that applies to the rest of the world as well?
