Radiating Americans with Fukushima Rain, Food

"Apparently, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton signed a pact with her counterpart in Japan agreeing for the United States to continue buying food from Japan, despite that food is not being properly tested for radioactive materials."

Looks like we are all on our own here...

This is probably one of the reasons why some of us are seeing Japanese tea, packaged in Canada and sold at our local Costco stores. Our government is ALLOWING these products to be imported into our country without any restrictions or testing.

Well, buyer beware...

Japanese Produce, TUNA given at food pantries...

Bump! 'Just wanted to add too that many ethnic grocers I'm a regular at continue to carry fresh Japanese PRODUCE in addition to any and all OCEAN source products.

Also, there was a recent announcement mentioning a need for canned TUNA for food pantries in my area-recall recent articles mentioning tuna being shipped from Japan and sold as 'local' elsewhere-for those who rely on food pantries, simply discard any and all canned or packaged ocean source foods given and rely on other protein foods such as beans, cheese, eggs etc. Due to the disaster with Fukushima we have 'self banned' ocean source foods, this includes canned ocean fish of all types. If we want fish, it has to come from a lake or river with no link to the ocean-fallout be damned! We know too that snow runoff IS distributing the nuclear fallout everywhere, but hopefully it is less than the disaster released into the ocean most recently at Fukushima.

Thanks for the info. Gardening Gal and I might add, just look at the whole OCEAN FOOD SOURCE thing with common sense since the ocean is the world's swimming pool the whole thing is soiled-eat the sewage at your risk and to all authorities EPA, CDC etc...'Don't PEE in my pool and tell me I'm not swimming or eating from it!'

-Off my menu: All Seafoods because the oceans really are a military and industrial sewer! Yes, I will miss Anchovies on my pizza, fishsticks, red snapper, tuna (even 'chicken of the sea' is no longer 'worthy,'crab, fake crab (made with Pollock, an ocean fish), clam chowder, Nori Seaweed,Caviar etc... Tea and more......

Thank you gardening gal. I have to keep up on all of this. Not only do I watch out for nano plastic wrapped foods, but gmos, pesticides and trying to find the origin the food I buy in the markets.

My boyfriend and I hopelessly search the the natural foods stores sifting through what we consider to be safe. We eat out a heck of lot less now. Mostly as a necessity rather than a luxury.

G'nite.
