UCB Milk Sampling Results Questions...

Some background to start. I happened upon a link to an article about cesium levels in SF organic milk today ( original article ). The article seem to be light on sources, but its a topic that I'm vastly interested so I clicked through the few sources that it had. The only directly relevant source was a report done through Berkeley found here.

I accept that I'm not an authority on this topic at all, but after reading the original report, and the enenews article the two don't seem to add up. Specifically I cant figure out how Bq/liter is converted to pCi/l.

I'm hopping that someone who's a little better with these figures, or a little more familiar with these studies could explain this a bit clearer for me.

Thanks,
Nick

I did some more research and

I did some more research and found the conversion from Bq/l to picocuries (note to self : read stickies before posting :]). so that part is now clear. The next part I'm having problems with is the quote from Forbes.com that lists the MCL for milk to be 3.0 picocuries per liter. After looking around on the epa's website for awhile I find this source ( here ) The "Beta Particles and Photon Radioactivity" seems the value I'm looking for but that doesn't match or convert to picocuries.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Nick

After much researching and

After much researching and fact checking, I finally understand where all the numbers come from.

Glad we all could help

But, really, glad you figured it out. Sometimes it takes writing it out to find the answer.
