An emotional response to perceived danger is a NORMAL and healthy human reaction. The reaction is so WIDESPREAD that it describes this entire thread. Most of this discussion is purely emotional
The OBJECTIVE dangers, from the Fukushima Daiichi Category-7+ nuclear disaster, to health and the environment are rather obvious. The equally objective generalized economic threat to members of the nuclear industry is equally apparent. The more visceral fears of retribution and prosecution, held by directly implicated parties, and their enablers, are much more palpable. The spreading panic among leveraged lenders is rampant.
Many of the rest of us, are aware of the objective dangers to human health, the environment, general economic threats and the particular threats to the, dare I say, ‘vital’ nuclear industry. Some among our number, fear - to the point of panic … ‘fear itself’.
I remain a tepid supporter of nuclear applications in electrical power, medicine, national defense and space exploration. Most of my personal reservations and concerns relate to the cover-ups and lies from the implicated parties as well as the Malthusian lies of the ‘Greenies’. If I lived less than 500 miles from the Fukushima Daiichi power plants, the direct health and environmental concerns would clearly dominate my thoughts.

You can see that 11% of the average person's annual radiation exposure is due to "internal" radiation. That's the radiation due to the naturally occurring radioactive elements that comprise each one of us.
Unfortunately, your typical ignorant anti-nuke thinks that radioactivity and radiation were invented by man in 1945. They don't know what every school child knows about "Carbon-14 dating". The reason we know the ages of the ancient Egyptians so well is that they were eating radioactive food.
Also check out the book by Professor Richard Muller of the UC-Berkeley Physics Department entitled "The Instant Physicist". On pages 12 and 13, he explains that the ATF requires that alcoholic beverages sold in the USA be radioactive. That ensures that the alcohol came from recently grown plant material and not petroleum. Learn to think by reading some scientific facts from a real scientist, and not the propaganda from the anti-nukes designed to inflame the gullible and the ignorant.

You have naturally occurring radioactive materials in your body that have been irradiating you from the inside, like Carbon-14, Tritium..... Their existence has absolutely nothing to do with either nuclear power nor nuclear weapons. Mother Nature makes them.
Where were you in grade school when they taught the class about Carbon-14 dating? The reason we know the age of the ancient Egyptians so well is that they were eating food that was radioactive.

I wish Japan could just stop being so SELFISH.

They need to encapsulate their nuclear waste in salt mines in the ground at Fukushima instead of burning it and spreading it across the planet via jetstream.
They need to capture the fumes that are in the stacks of the plant and use a technology to clean the air instead of just blasting it out across the Pacific.
They need to stop dumping all the radioactive waste into the OUR ocean.
They need to spend the money and focus on what they are doing.
They need to provide safe haven for their citizens and especially children.

It has been six months and nothing significant is being done. I know they can do it, but there is no profit in it so they just play as if they don't know what to do, or deny it is a hazard.
Meanwhile NATO keeps developing more Space Weapons to control and be greedy and kill us with.
This is a shame. The human bodies will end up absorbing a lot of radiation this is one way cut back on how much ends up in the environment. Also, good for population control and those pushing this agenda are sitting pretty nifty with what is going on.
The raw truth is that unless there is money to be made here, this waste will continue to spread. After all as one person said here in this forum "the solution to pollution is dilution." And if a lot of people get sick from autoimmune illness, cancer, and so forth, there is money to made by this. So this is the path we are on "the profitable path." Doesn't GE make a host of cancer body scanners like MRI and such ?? Huh, do you see the connections ? Wether deliberate or not is the narrow path we are walking on now.

For low Earth orbit, the orbital period is about 90 minutes.
