Testing Lab Recommendations/
Does any one know of any ethical, thorough, accurate testing labs that will do radiological testing of water, soil, and food samples? I need one that is willing to work with an individual and not dumb down the science, rather than one that only works with companies or governmental entities.
I live in the pacific northwest and various news reports seem to indicate that our contamination levels might be significantly higher (due to location under the jet stream and our very wet winter/spring climate) than the results that Berkely is reporting in their location. I need hard data so I can put the local contamination situation into its proper context and make more informed decisions about how to respond (or not).
Thanks in advance.

PNW labs
I was wondering the same as well. I think it is strange that no one is testing soil here, when high rainfall here would make the PNW most likely to have highest levels, over places like N. CA. Perhaps they are, but we just haven't heard about it?

I currently have a sample in play at EMSL analytical, and will provide details here when I get results (on both the materials found and the "customer service experience").
Thank you
i look forward to hearing the results. Please include details about the location where the sample was collected and the total volume of material collected/tested. e.g. 1000 Bq in a large sample is not as much of a concern as the same level in a smaller sample. Did EMSL provide specifics about how the samples were to be collected and shipped?
If anyone else has actual lab test results, please post them here.
They want a one kilo sample.
They want a one kilo sample. Collecting method is up to you.
I put it all in a 2 qt plastic container from the hardware store, stuck that in a box, and there you go. No special shipping methods (ie hazmat) are necessary for the levels seen thus far.

I am waiting for your report since I also want to test my soil. Please let us know about your experience with EMSL Analytical.

How much was/will be the cost of the soil test from EMSL? Thanks. JB
