New TEPCO info re: current emissions

Current atmospheric emissions estimated at 1 billion bq/hr maximum. They are having a hard time telling what's coming out fresh vs. what's blowing in the wind from prior release.
1 billion bq/hr sounds like a lot until you look at what it was puking out back in March and early April. Also, bear in mind, BRAWM has had 4 air non-detects in a row, which tells us that the amount reaching the US (well, Berkelet at least) is mighty small.
Also, for those so inclined, additional info on the "progress" at Fukushima. I don't mean to be trite, but damn, what a mess...they are making progress, it's just a huge project...

Radioactive steam until cold shutdowns are achieved if possible
That number is big what are some previous release numbers month to month chart would be good data. i bet these emissions have a direct effect on the island glad brawm not detecting at ground level . interesting iodine is still being detected on the island. one thing I remember is how badly tepco didn't want to vent radioactive steam now were going on 4 months of steam pouring up up and away ehhh.

How are multiple masses outside of containment "progress?"
What is "cold shutdown" for a reactor that has had "melt-out?"
emissions, fallout and bioaccumulation. next ?
Anything less than a huge and building campaign to test air, water, soil and biota everywhere in the Western US is IRRESPONSIBLE on many levels and CRIMINAL in the extreme. A few tens of millions in testing to enhance the lives of generations to come is a drop in the bucket of this TRILLION DOLLAR FUBAR. To 'look the other way' is a serious crime not just against us and our immediate children but also a crime against future generations.
Remediation of this level of radioactive contamination HAS NEVER HAPPENED. Will it happen in Japan? Will they run out of money and manpower before completion ? Will they, after working on it for a generation throw in the towel because it is 'undoable'?
Should the population have to hang out while the MULTI-GENERATIONAL cleanup experiment progresses? No.
FULL EVACUATION for ANYONE in Japan who might be effected should commence IMMEDIATELY. Someone blogged that North Dakota would work nicely. What huge boon for N. Dakota that could be.

Corporate Takeover
TEPCO has taken over the Japanese Government with regard to the handling of the disaster. We saw the same thing in the Gulf Coast when BP (a foreign corporation) took over the handling of their oil disaster. They took control of the Coast Guard, The EPA, OSHA, among others and ultimately the Presidency (in that he said he couldn't do anything and indeed didn't do anything) and currently the courts. This is a trend that is gathering momentum and is indicative of the New World Order. The same thing will happen here as in Japan when the next nuke goes up here: The guilty party will manage the whole affair with the guiding principle being grounded upon profit not our well being. It's a case of letting the wolf protect and then repair the hen house when the chickens are killed both here and in Japan.

Running things is a lot of work.
Some folks is good folks, some folks is poor folks.
The owners of the currency are benign stewards in service of those that own the most of it. It has been a grand and many pronged project this systematic 'purchasing of everything' in progress many hundreds of years. The 'ownership society' has been many hundreds of years in the making.It is a growing list with key players to be sure. I know and love many of them. If we as s species do not 'up our game' it becomes the beginning of the end. A first step would be to take all private money out of the entertainment politics has become. When money can speak as loudly as it wants it will always drown out the individual. Our current direction will of course achieve a milestone in that it will create a government of the wealthy with control directly and through corporations and a misinformed electorate. Ownership of the media is key. The invisible (the mind of a people) controls, ultimately / everything.
A balance is naturally achieved, happily, via fear of the masses. Sometimes things do work to the masses benefit.
Really we have the two corporate party system, one wants collective services at the minimum via a government service yielding a safe and productive environment (happy healthy workers) and the other that demands a American Theological/Economic objective the solution to everything is private capital, save corporate welfare and conquest. I think everyone agrees we nee to broaden the political spectrum. Worldwide some of the best governance has arisen from melding the best ideas from a wide range AND number of political parties.
I think the current rulers do a good job. I think we could do better. Now how to we get to have an informed and engaged electorate ? Sounds like public education. The charter schools seem like a good idea until you find out that they pay the administrators more and the teachers less. I went to a private school so I do not knock them. Simply stated a national educational service does not need a tepco or a lockeed making a slice for their shareholders.
Really it comes down to this: We create this reality. I stay engaged just to point this out.
