Chernobyl and Fuku Just Keep On Giving

"Firefighters tackling woodland fires near Chernobyl lack monitoring as well as equipment. Jakov Kalynik, a firefighter at Parishev station, about nine miles from the ruined plant, said: "I know when I am fighting a fire on radioactively contaminated ground – you get the heat just like an ordinary fire, but you get a tingling sensation too, like pins jumping all over your body. I don't know how bad it is for me, there's no medical testing afterwards, we just go and wash."
So, now there is another account of the incessant "pin-pricking" feeling I had during the first Fuku blow over in Arizona. I've felt those sensations many times since, albeit with lesser intensity. Tingling in the mouth, burning eyes, too. Still feel a burning of the skin after running the aircon or sweeping outside.
Not to mention the crrrraaaaazy thing that happened to my eyes after doing some yard work back in late April. Started with a small dot of very defined prismatic light, which got bigger and bigger, making it hard to see. The finely detailed and very bright prismatic light finally started dissipating into waves. Lasted for about an hour in the right eye. A couple of hours later, it started in the left eye. I finally thought it had to be something radioactive, so I washed both eyes with boric acid. Nothing since, but I kept washing with boric acid for a few days and I still rinse with it when my eyes start burning. What a trip!
That said, get ready for another wave of the stuff to hit the U.S. mainland. According to http://radiationnetwork.com/Message.htm a monitor in Kauai measured up to 456 CPM during a 3 minute spike. The guess is that it is rain fallout from the last Fuku release when TEPCO opened doors of reactor #2.
Young'uns, don't let people pressure you into thinking you're crazy for protecting yourselves by whatever means are available to you. Fukushima is worse than Chernobyl now and the nasty stuff just keeps on comin'. There is no end in sight.
And let's not forget that every nuclear power plant worldwide is allowed a certain amount of radiation release per day and many of them are releasing more than the allowable limits due to lax upkeep. Many of them are decrepit. How many people live downwind of all these power plants? Answer: Everyone on the planet.

yes, here in Europe also
We've had that "pins" sensation on and off here in Europe too since Fuku blew, though it is less intense now than it was in March-April. Some people describe it as sensations like bugs biting. Also similar eye symptoms to those you describe. A good shortcut to knowing whether symptoms may be radiation-related or not is to consult the homeopathic materia medica for Rad brom:

So when is that next wave of
So when is that next wave of crap supposed to hit the mainland? Tomorrow? (Friday) I would like to keep my kids indoors.
Thnx
Hey thanks for the post. I will be aware for more spikes.
I felt the pin pricks in March. It was very strange indeed.
I sure am glad the EPA went
I sure am glad the EPA went back to normal quarterly testing.
Oh me too! I have had a few
Oh me too!
I have had a few burning pins land on me when outside om my arm and face, in late March/early April.
I can feel exactly where and I have at least one time successfully swiped it off.
Eye-wise, I once had the fan really going and I got a flash in my eye. It reminded me of how the astronauts reported similar flashes in space so I turned the fan off, in case it was the same sort of thing and there were more I might be stirring up. It only lasted a few seconds, though, and did not expand. It was larger than a point but not much larger.
I try to avoid rain but it's not possible to avoid completely. Once a raindrop fell on my lip, I wiped it off immediately and my lip was itchy there afterwards for about half an hour. This is ambiguous though because it might have been something on my finger (I doubt it very much.)
Others around here have sometimes mentioned to me a really burning drop of rain on an arm here, a pin prick on the face there. So it's not just me.
I don't think all the particles give off this sensation though. The infrequent amount of pin pricks I've felt doesn't match the rate I should be receiving at my location.
Anyone else experience anything like this?

That doesn't sound crazy at all.
I just wanted to clarify
I just wanted to clarify that I've had other raindrops fall on me after Fukushima that didn't itch at all, it was only that one lip-directed drop I wiped that seemed itchy.
