Rick Cromack here, momentarily interrupting my self-imposed exile to draw attention to a recent point-by-point refutation of certain, purportedly "scientific" allegations regarding a so-called "statistically significant" "spike" in infant mortality in CERTAIN Pacific Northwest municipalities during the ten-week period immediately following the commencement of radiological emissions from Fukushima.
These reports managed to scare the Hell out of not a few BRAWM Forum consumers, fuelled by ever-yet-more-paranoid Rantings by doomsday cheerleaders, Apocalypse whores and Armageddon pimps desperate for attention, despite very early critical analyses casting doubt on the methodology and motives of the study's authors. I have returned today in a final effort to restore some measure of sanity to this conversation.

He also made it pretty clear that he's not interested in even reading the BRAWM forum anymore. He'll read their monitoring results (when they post new ones) but that's about all. I told him I'd let him know if anything else interesting was published here, but to be honest I'm thinking of moving on too. This place has been taken over by the trolls and wannabes.

I really don't understand
I really don't understand the levels of hate and intolerance some people here are directing at Rick. Like him, I've been here "since the begining" and have enjoyed his honesty, curiosity and perspective. He's never pretended to be more knowledgeable than he is, has asked good questions and has tried to be, as he called it, "an encourager." Early on after reading some very frightening things here that turned out to be unfounded, I called Rick and he spent more than an hour on the phone with me, talking straight but advising not to become overly anxious or paranoid, yet, and above all counseling me to keep faith and remain hopeful, but also watchful. I got the distinct impression that like me and I think others here, he is concerned and skeptical of the "rosy"-er pictures being painted by the Japan authorities, but is unwilling to give in to despair and hopes that he can help others deal with reality and not flip out completely during this crisis. I know he was very upset when another man wrote something about holding a gun and worrying about his family, I also know Rick tried to contact him but I don't know if he ever managed to speak with him. I know he is angry at Tepco and all kinds of authorities but he is sustained by his faith in God and his family. He was a godsend to me and helped me deal with the frustration and helplessness I was feeling, and the only thing he asked in return was, that if I thought he had been helpful, that I "pay it forward" and look for opportunities to help and comfort others. I felt and still feel that he is very wise for his age(I'm old enough to he his mother, I think) and that his caring, honest attitude and dialogue are greatly missed here and very constructive.
I don't understand why some people have to take a bad situation and make it worse. And like Rick I want to express my sincere appreciation to BRAWM for everything they continue to do for us and for their patience with all the questions and the naysayers.

My "thank you" is for pointing out how the "Admiral" who created his social life & fan club by cluttering up this forum with more posts than anyone else and even worse quoted doomsayer articles & terminology while constantly responding to every single question or concern directed for BRAWMM team members or actual industry professionals before they ever get a chance to address the issue!! Personal attacks uncalled for?-I personally tolerated his annoying tendency to add his two cents that he gleaned from other peoples posts & questionable links & mood swings,etc.,and at times found items he set out here that seemed level headed enough to temporarily come to the conclusion that he's probably more creative and useful when his psych meds were properly adjusted & taken accoording to schedule. Then he'd justify my 1st impressions again by posting BS exposing panic & fear he wasn't content with suffering alone-but would repost "fear-monger" crap that he'd twisted the original title of to regain the attention he craved when ever he sensed that his audience was getting smaller. Many people duped into thinking they'd found their logical,level-headed personal savior promising to lead them from impending doom also nearly had panic attacks when they'd spotted his twisted little wordplay dismissed by him as having been done for "space-saving concerns"! Then he'd again be coddled & consoled by sympathetic souls & turn the forum into his "group therapy session" followed up with one or two constructive contributions before reasserting himself as the "all-seeing eye" whose superior intellect was beyond question. I posted an issue I'd learned about from a relative who'd been Commander of a USN submarine base in CT describing how in the past the USA & former Soviet Union had regularly dumped materials from the reactors aboard nuclear submarines & the areas they'd designated for releasing radioactive materials and speculated that due to the nasty nature of the Cold War that it wouldn't surprise me to learn that it may have been done intentionally in certain locations to damage resources,etc. and suddenly found his reply describing my post as "crap" based on his career in the Navy on nuke powered & armed subs.
