PRODUCT/OBJECT FOR BABIES CONTAMINATED FROM JAPAN
This may be a laughable question but I will ask anyway...
I recently bought 2 borosilicate glass bottles from the shops suprise they are made in Japan. I use them to store expressed milk for my baby. He has been happily munching away at milk from the bottle but the thought occured to me that could it be possible that these baby bottles made and shipped from Japan be contaminated due to the current radiation situation!?
I really hope to God it's just my over cautious mind but I must know if this is in fact a possibilty and if so how and the fact that the bottles are washed make any difference.
I've noticed where I am they havent stopped importing baby good (not just bottles) from Japan.
Please let me know I can't bear the thought of my child being harmed by this and other peoples children.
Thank you

It is not a laughable
It is not a laughable question at all, you are raising a very valid concern, particularly with all the talk of 'hot' radioactive dust particles. I also agree with the other posters idea to throw the bottle away, for your own peace of mind if nothing else, and anyway the risk to your baby is not worth the cost of a bottle, and then you always have the choice to avoid all products made in Japan. You are not the only person thinking like this.
I think your probably safe
I think your probably safe in that any surface contamination would be washed off with soap and water(granted you washed them before use) and it is not very likely that the glass itself would be radioactive. If you want to be sure...just throw them out and buy new ones made elsewhere.
Hi, I am glad you are taking
Hi,
I am glad you are taking thought into your baby's well being.
Personally, I wouldn't be buying anything from Japan because we have no idea what kind of process the product has been through from getting there to here. For example, what if it was exposed to the outside for a long period of time before packaging?
Worst nuclear disaster in history, I think it's safer to err on the side of caution. Therefore, perhaps it's overall better to just buy the bottles from another location which doesn't cost much anyways.
Good luck!
