CNN hosts guy talking about 'hot particles', how we can't run, etc.

Why doesn't Gundersen answer straight up?

What is with the evasive answers to direct questions?

"do you believe there are enough of them that people of the west coast of the US should be worried or is it a very minor concern"

Gundersen's answer was that they can get lodged in the lungs, he's still advising folks to wash veggies and that we are at a point were we can't run.

I'd like for Gundersen to just once give a straight up answer. Something like "I believe this is/is not a serious health issue". Or "I believe there is/is not a serious risk from these hot particles". But, no. We get what *could* happen, as if the other particles we've been talking about were not a threat to get lodged in our lungs. And to wash our veggies. And the ever helpful advice of "you can't run". Thanks, Arnie. You've been a great help....

As for his comments early on about the release, even the US NRC said it was worse than what Japan and TEPCO were saying.

Straight up answer and the

Straight up answer and the segment never would have aired. He gave enough information for you to research and decide for yourself.

Never would have aired if he said "There's no concern"

The way the mass media operates, it would never be aired if he didn't have something frightening to say. "There's nothing to worry about" wouldn't attract viewers or sell product.

And I can't find any more informative statements via his own personal releases/"interviews". It appears that there's always just enough to keep you worried. But, not enough to clearly understand the actual risk.

The general public doesn't have the knowledge or time to do their own research. That's why we expect EXPERTS to guide us through times like this.

If you can find a straight up statement from him that lays out the actual risks involved, please post it. I, and I'm sure many, would love to see it. And I don't mean just a statement counting particles, which means absolutely nothing to the average person. I'm talking about a thorough (and scientific) comparison with normal everyday exposure (as the BRAWM team has done) and historical exposure in the US (nuclear weapons tests and Chernobyl). That type of information will be MUCH more useful in helping us gauge the seriousness of the situation here in the US. And whether I should hop in my Gulfstream G650 (traded in my Lear) and fly south of the equator :-)

Too forthright and the

Too forthright and the establishment will murder him just as it did Rodger Dickey and Matthew Simmons.

Yeah sure

And they'd bury him with Jimmy Hoffa. Got it. Thanks for your data/fact backed input.

Without concrete data about

Without concrete data about when and where and how these hot particles were detected, or what the hot particles actually are, his statements just add another level of stress to the situation without providing any useful information.

Clean your house, wash your veggies... Bravo.

Agreed

I do like the Lear jet

I do like the Lear jet part.

I would trade one my favorite body parts for a Lear Jet, yo.

That was from the Chris

That was from the Chris Martensen interview where he obviously felt less censored. CNN obviously involved stricter limits.

That comment you mention, to me, would be similar to saying "Where is George Bush living these days?" or "What is RadEx?"

There was no more useful info in the Chris Martensen interview

The CNN interview was condensed for stricter time limits. He effectively said the same thing as in the Chris Martensen interview.
