Milk update 6/2

6/2 (4:25pm): A milk sample with a Best By date of 6/9 was added to our Milk results. We have our eighth non-detection of I-131 in milk, a non-detection of Cs-134, and a detection of Cs-137 right above our detection limit.

I am so looking forward to

I am so looking forward to drinking fresh organic milk again. I can't wait until we get into the non-detected realm. I'll probably start drinking milk again a month or two after that. So tired of powdered milk at this point.

Thank you for looking after

Thank you for looking after us, BRAWM.

Please Keep Monitoring

I would like to see Berkeley continue to provide this valuable service indefinitely. I would like to see you all get a government grant from the oo support this ongoing research -- grant writer anyone? At a minimum,
please continue monitoring the Fukishima fallout until the crisis is
officially resolved because things could change from day to day.
Thank you very much

I second that, having

I second that, having continued monitoring until this crisis is over, would really help ease the worry and anxiety. Thanks again for your valuable service.

I was hoping that Milk would go down....

rather than tick a touch up. At least it isn't a leap up, just in the same general measurement.

Nice.

Nice, Mark, and BRAWM. Thanks.

Mark, just out of curiosity, have you folks started having any discussions, yet, about when, in theory, you might start scaling back, or ceasing monitoring of certain media? Two, five, ten non-detects in a row, for example? Obviously my question is not intended to reflect any ENCOURAGEMENT of that development -- nothing could be further from my desires -- but I'm trying to be realistic, here, and I'd like us all to be as "heads-up" as possible about certain realities. You've already drawn down air monitoring to once every three days, and appropriately, I think; what's the next step as you see it, and when might we reach it?

Although you guys have been very gracious and have assured is that testing will not suffer during the summer months, I think everyone would understand if you felt that as the months went by, some investigational priorities would necessarily shift and evolve. My HOPE is that, as Fukushima radionuclides begin to fade into non-detection in the lower food chain, you folks at BRAWM might see the need and potential for more testing HIGHER in the food chain, specifically, in fish, seafood and other products originating from or near the Pacific Ocean. There are some rich scientific avenues there, and, in this aggrieved consumer's opinion, a GENUINE and INCREASING need.

What say you?

I agree and would encourage

I agree and would encourage you to continue testing up the food chain particularly fish and also ruminant animals. But also please be vigilant on all the testing until this crisis is stabilized. We are being lied to about what is being released into the environment (particularly the ocean at this point) and regular testing is the only way to know what we are being exposed to. Unfortunately our government has abdicated its responsibility to do this.

To add to Rick's post, I'd

To add to Rick's post, I'd also like to request adding meat and wheat products in the future. It would be interesting to see how much of the radionuclides show up in meat products from grass-fed cows. Thank you for continuing to test and for all your responses to our posts!!:)
