Edison International owns 78% of San Onofre

Interesting background. The guy also was a founder of the Natural Resources Defense Council. Interesting that he became exec of company investing in nukes.

Typical weirdness. I will withhold comments for now.

I just saw your post,

I just saw your post, Bill.

'Obama's new Commerce Secretary was Energy Executive for San Onofre Nuclear Power.'
-No conflict of interests here, huh.
What a surprise, President Obama is hailing nuclear power as the savior for future American energy needs. Additionally, as one of the other BRAWM posters pointed out, Obama politically hails from Illinois, a state said to be highly powered by nuclear power. Very likely he owes heavily to the nuclear power industry of Illinois for its support in his bid for the American Presidency. And, Obama won! Time to pay.
-No conflict of interests here, either.

The rulers switch around

The rulers switch around their puppets, your leaders, to keep the targets moving and the attention away from where it is merited. It's quite a fun little game and the sheeple love it too.

Power politics is not a new

Power politics is not a new political force. In and of itself, power politics is not an evil force. The United States is a Democratic Republic, not a true democracy. Power politics plays a mighty role in our government. We elect leaders to represent us, and to make decisions for us. When we no longer agree with our leaders' power politics (supporters) and their decisions, the time has come to march to a different drummer, or maybe I should say, to march to a different band corps major.

Write to newspaper opinion sections, participate on internet online blogs, call Coast to Coast, vote differently. Yes, talk to your hair dresser. Act. Just act. By the hundredth monkey, the air may well become charged for change.... If nothing else, you will feel better for at least doing something, instead of just sitting there, and staring off into the distance silently, felling powerless. Act, just act.

Sheeple are people too...

bingo

The solution is to cut the funding. As the rulers presently work on a consent basis we must use the currency of the people, our best tool or lever, consent of the masses and the groups within. Do not let your displeasure with nuke proliferation and radiological suicide go unregistered. Pick one maybe two items in the news you find telling and share it with your hairdresser. Chose funding items and environmental legislation you fell strongly about and write ALL your representatives. Lastly do your homework and figure out who and what industry, financier, media outlet, etc is profiting from a given criminal activity AND THEN withhold your custom while letting them know you are and encouraging others to do the same.

Just by living in a community and a society provides participation. Make that constructive engagement with thoughtful and very intentional behavior.

and don't forget...

and don't forget to wave your hands in the air and sing "Kumbaya".

That always works.

more- just great - opposed renewables, pronuke UN energy advisor

"As a former chairman and CEO of Edison International, the parent company of Southern California Edison, and a co-founder of the Natural Resources Defense Council, he has straddled business and environmental activist circles. He also has served as a member of the United Nation's advisory group on energy and climate change."

....

"During his tenure serving as the head of the California Public Utilities Commission in the early 1990s, Bryson angered some in the environmental community by arguing against renewable construction projects and defending the state's reliance on nuclear power."
