Where the Hell is the Latest IAEA Fukushima Update?
http://www.iaea.org/newscenter/news/tsunamiupdate01.html
...A few weeks ago, the IAEA moved from once-daily (during the five-day work week) updates to once a week (Fridays). It's now been NINE DAYS since the last report... Nine days that have seen some fairly, erm, SIGNIFICANT developments, not to mention, the multinational IAEA team is IN JAPAN RIGHT NOW and you would think they'd be gaining better access to "hard", reliable data...
...So, WHERE IS IT? They're not even reporting on the Reactor temperatures any more, let alone the pressures...

The only people that seem to still be releasing updates on a regular basis is JAIF. http://www.jaif.or.jp
IAEA reportage
Information regarding this industrial accident will be forthcoming in due course. Just because this disaster will have effects for many generations and time zones does not mean that people and the environment come first or even at all except as to their ability to repay loans made(to their respective governments and industries).
I imagine the IAEA has a communications or PR officer that can get answers to direct questions fairly quickly. Expect a two week turnaround for general reporting after their trip (which started in the last few days).
Come on, Rick
You actually expect things to become more efficient when the
brass shows up? :-)
When Jimmy Carter decided to show up at TMI in the middle of
the crisis, he just about brought all efforts to a halt while
the plant operators stumbled all over themselves to greet him
and explain things.
You must keep the pressure on !
It is very important that the scientific community keeps the pressure on the IAEA. This is the time we need full disclosure of all data so scientist all over the world can contribute to the best solutions. It seems to me that a protective club has formed that wants to protect the industry.
There are many lives at risk and the health of the planet is at stake.
Keep the pressure on and demand transparency and independent testing.
