All of us on this forum are pretty much transfixed on Fukushima right now. But, there are plenty of horror shows going on right here in the US that have nothing to do with nuclear power. Just take a look at the list of news releases the EPA puts out. It's constant battles on issues that pose a greater threat to us than Fukushima.

And check out this article:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/05/23/national/main20065318.shtml

"'I can't breathe in my own house and my kids are sick,' said Jacqueline Boulle, whose says her 8- and 10-year-old daughters have suffered nosebleeds, coughs, headaches and stomach woes from the bad air. 'It's not something that you can just walk away from or go in your house and close the door and say, `It's not going to be in here, we're going to be fine' because it is in our house now.'"

Nosebleeds?!!! Geez!!!

Not a word

The testimony was 100% about gasoline and diesel prices. Not one
word about domestic NUCLEAR energy policy.
