Background Radiation

Hi BRAWN,

Wondering if someone in your dept. has a handy answer to a few questions on background radiation. I've checked the peer reviewed lit through databases such as PubMed and Science Direct but I can't locate specific info.

My questions are:

- Has background radiation changed due to atmospheric testing? Is there a number in rems or Bq?

- Has background altered from the Chernobyl accident? It's been reported in various studies on Chernobyl without documentation.
