WHEN CAN WE EXPECT NEW PRODUCE, MILK, SPINACH, TOPSOIL RESULTS? (Posted by Bill)

At this point the most important thing, to me, is to get a handle on what the total deposits and bio9logical uptakes are. How much is in or on the soil (can you test the top and then lower layers, for example to see how far it has "soaked in") and how much is in Spinach, Mushrooms, strawbaerries and other outdoor grown food products.

I would imagine the water sources for the produce matter too.

I do expect that radioiodine will be diminuishing at this point pretty steadily BUT I do expect that radioCesium (137) will be accumulating at higher rates in produce and milk (depending on the sources - and you need multiple sources to work out an "average" NOT just one sample of spinach or multiple plants from one location, but spinach and milk etc from multiple locations just like with the cows (although if the milk is homogenized that would work to give you a pretty decent average I would guess).

I DID read somewhere (think it was in that google book someone linked from the 1950's - anyon?) that Cesium takes a while to work through the cows system into the milk (maybe a week) but don't hold me to that. My point is that levels MIGHT rise even though the sources of radionuclides in grass etc may be diminishing, However if one goal here is to follow the radionuclides then you NEED new and varied grass and plant samples (amybe from the dairies you get the milk from) AND more spinach, lettuce, herbs, strawberries and whatever is growing.

You get my drift.

WHEN do you expect to have any more results. I literally check at least ten times a day because, other than the French results I posted on this forum, I have seen NO OTHER consistent effort anywhere to test samples of soil, veggies, grass AND milk.

You guys rock as far as that is concerned.

But I wish you rocked a little faster. It is planting time here in the east.

Cheers!

Hi all, we're back from last

Hi all, we're back from last week's conference and are catching up on these samples. This afternoon I'll be working on getting out several food chain samples, including more topsoil, grass, arugula, kale, spinach, and strawberries. We'll also post our first seaweed sample. I'll post an update when these are completed in the next few hours.

Mark [BRAWM Team Member]

We are forever indebted to you

but I am still nervous about these results.

oh well

sock it to us

Thanks Mark, and please

Thanks Mark, and please please consider adding eggs!

Yes, I agree

I am waiting as well! Can we at least get some sort of response on time frame? Thank you.

BRAWM folks - can we get a ballpark as to what is in the caves

and when we might see some results?

Topsoil, spinach, milk, grass (or dandelions (!) and other produce is what we, your devoted and loyal followers, are really hoping for.

AND

Would you test sand/soil from school grounds/sandboxes?

Pretty please? With cherries on top?

We are all breathlessly waiting!

Really hoping for eggs too.

Really hoping for eggs too. There are a couple of widely distributed local eggs, like Judy's.

Agreed - really anxiousto

Agreed - really anxiousto see the food chain results, and PLEASE PLEASE consider adding eggs (from farms where chickens are outdoors).

Ditto, I live here in

Ditto, I live here in Berkeley and am trying to make food choices for a young child. I'd be happy to bring in local samples of foods from the farmers' markets here.

Agreed!

I am also very interested in ongoing milk and produce results. I don't know your detailed procedures, but it doesn't seem like we're getting recent test results for food.

I live in the East Bay and would be happy to bring in samples or help in any other way that would make things easier for you.

Many thanks to the entire BRAWN team for all your efforts! You are all very much appreciated.

Sorry, I meant BRAWM!

Sorry, I meant BRAWM!

Agree, The food chain

Agree, The food chain results are very important! This is the leagacy that we will live with for years. I don't know what to eat.

Food chain radioactive testing checks- Please continue

Ditto from Southern California.

Food chain radioactive testing checks- Please continue

Ditto from Central California.

Yes, please continue these

Yes, please continue these tests so that we can make food choices for our children. Thank you so much BRAWM team for all that your doing! Also from Central CA.
