Is Hawaii safe?
Planned a trip to Hawaii last year for June...with the kids. It makes me ill to think about canceling our trip, but I am wondering if it is safe for our kids to swim in the ocean, drink the milk, and eat the food grown there. What are your thoughts? They have not made public any sea water testing that I know of.

I wouldn't drink the milk.
I wouldn't drink the milk. But I'm not drinking it here either (in Califonria)
Safe = Zero
Unfortunately, no place is "safe" anymore. Go ahead and visit Hawai'i, but drink filtered water.
100% perfectly safe. Ignore
100% perfectly safe. Ignore the radiophobes and enjoy to the fullest extent one of the great wonders of the world.
Congratulations on your trip planning. Hawaii will be very good to you indeed.

HONOLULU — Health officials say radiation levels in Hawaii milk and air caused by the nuclear crisis in Japan continue to fall.
State Health Department Manager Jeff Eckerd says the radiation levels found in tests of milk and water samples are not a public threat. Eckerd says although the levels were considered safe before, the decline is a good sign.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has been conducting water and milk tests throughout April across Hawaii. The State Health Department expects results from testing done on April 18 and 19 at large-scale rainwater catchment systems on Maui and Kauai to be later available this week.
Safe?
they have radnet monitors there . I assume it's safe if those monitors are and have been within safety measures.why u say ,well goverment agencys are basing our danger from radiation on the radnet system .see article. The ocean waters contamination would depend on ocean currents there's data on those too. I have no idea but would assume it would be diluted to low level or safe levels in hawaii .but since no ones testing levels in sea i understand your aprehention .
