Anyone difficulty breathing? or feeling air is short?

Hello:

I am wondering whether anybody else has a feeling that "the air is short" or some difficulty breathing. I am back in California from 3 weeks of Florida and feel as though I cannot breath well here since today.
Anyone has similar complaints?
I had this before I left to Florida during after the first week of the accident.

feeling that "the air is short" or some difficulty breathing in

Yes, I do feeling that "the air is short" or some difficulty breathing...
it startet 2011 begin 2012 bud now it is heavy and before and if rainy seams like worse?.

Scary

Hmm

I'm not trying to downplay anyone's feelings on this issue but I think a lot of this has to do with fear/paranoia and real concern over a real issue. I think things should be kept an eye on (remembering that my family is one of those modifying our diet, just in case) but there was a lot of bronchial sickness going around BEFORE the "event" (myself and both my children were down with nasty coughs a week beforehand), it is peak allergy season for the entire state, EVERYTHING is in bloom, they have started spraying some of the crops (ALWAYS causes scratchy throat and bad tastes in my mouth for me) and there have been quite a few pasture/crop fires around the Central Cali area, so we have had a lot of acrid/metallic tastes and smells. Nothing I haven't seen before in my 15 years of being in this state.

Again, I think we should be carefully watching and considering the affects of what is going on over there, but I honestly believe a lot of what we are seeing would still be happening even IF Fukushima wasn't having problems. Just my opinion.

i have...

I have been having problems with my voice, throat, and breathing. Last night developed a cough. I've been out of sorts for awhile...

air

Thanks mate for such information, you had provided a good glimpse of this topic.

I live on the West Coast and

I live on the West Coast and mine and my family's health has been great. Remember that this is allergy season...it is a particularly bad year due to all the rain.

If you are feeling ill,

If you are feeling ill, please see your physician. You could have a medical condition or stress from anxiety.

I am a physician and I know

I am a physician and I know my body well. All I do is asking whether anybody else noted something. That is totally valid.

I have been observing folks who say this

and I usually keep my mouth shut about what I believe is causing it so as not to stress them.

The weather has been very strange here on the east coast when the plumes come through - heavy fog, mist when rain is predicted, unusual coloring of the skies (metallic grey).

My son, a teenager was mentioning that the air was heavy or smelled funny (like NY or fireworks)this past week and he felt lightheaded as was a neighbor who had to lean against her house due to it as we were talking.

I can't tell if it is just the fear that the air is toxic or subliminal thoughts but there definitely are what seem to be real effects in people. Without actual measurements of the air we breath in real time, though, it is so hard to tell if this sh*t has just permeated EVERYTHING (and imagine what radionuclides in the lungs will feel like as it decays and emits its radiation) or if it is just the apprehension that is making it FEEL like it is there lighting up our insides.

I really hope human beings can close this industry down forever. If ANY good comes from this it will be the total shutdown of all nukes forever. I think norway or finland or sweden actually has that in their Constitution. We should too and so should Japan: no more nukes and close ALL the old ones and seal the waste away forever!

Renewables are now the opnly sane option (NOT COAL or oil or nukes)

Amen!

Amen!

I have had asthma like

I have had asthma like symptoms and a mild bronchial infection. I do get allergies, but it usually does not effect my breathing, I just get sneezy. It is like a tightness in my airways. My kids have had allergy-like symptoms also. We live in CA.

I have also noticed symptoms

I have also noticed symptoms I'd call call bronchial asthma.
I had asthma once as a child, due to field burning here in W. Oregon.
This winter we've seen a high number of colds, flu and pneumonia,
that I fought off by extra sleep, staying home, herbs and nutrition...
so there's no way to know for sure what's going on in my case.

If I see a doctor, what will they do? Chest xray??? steroid inhaler?
no thanks. But if this keeps up i will get a doctor to check it out.

I'm definitely short of breath, huffing and puffing after exercise, and coughing, which is new to me.I'm not ill with any cold or virus. I don't get allergies...

googled symptoms of radiation exposure, and they were mostly gastrointestinal. that may be for larger doses than we're getting in the USA.

good luck with your breathing! It's these little things we take for granted that are really all that matter after all. clean air and water and food. the ability to breathe. Prayers for our fragile ecosphere.

Dry eyes

I have been experiencing dry eyes for last couple of days. No shortness of breath.
Anybody else in Bay Area having similar dry eye syndrome. Don't know if it is related
to fall out in the air. Will go and get some eye drop solution.r

Dry Cough

I've had a cough for about 3 weeks. My son started the week before,
and my other son had it before that. This chain started *before*
the earthquake in Japan. I've also had a cough at this time a year
(spring) a number of times before. And I expected it this year since
we've had so much rain. We’ve been in a relatively severe drought
with close to empty reservoirs and the real prospect of water rationing.
Now the lakes are full (after a single season) and we are opening the
flood gates on the reservoir dams to allow room for the snow runoff.
With all that rain, EVERYTHING is blooming. So, my cough came as no
surprise. A couple of puffs on the inhaler takes care of it. As it
does every year I've had this.

It is allergy season

It is allergy season

In SoCal...

Yes, Anon, those of us with allergies KNOW what allergy season is -- we've lived through many! --- otherwise we would not bother listing these SPECIFIC symptoms. I have itchy and scratchy eyes in "allergy season"... but now have just extremely dry eyes. Also, I have had continuous "chemical headaches" (I call them that because they are similar to when I use oil paints). I have also almost fainted more than ten times in the past month -- and never fainted in my life. Finally, my digestive system had been extremely active, with sharp gas pains throughout despite the fact that my diet has not changed.

And as for all you other wise-guys saying "see your doctor", I did and he has no rhyme or reason for these symptoms --none whatsoever. Just said get more sleep, and I get eight hours to nine hours per night already.

Perhaps the doctors of the wealthy give different advice....

Dry eyes and GI problems

Count 1 more for dry eyes and GI problem, namely sharp gas pains, but no respiratory problems.

I too have lived through many allergy seasons and these symptoms are entirely atypical.

Thank you for raising these concerns.

We are in WA, and no

We are in WA, and no problems here. Haven't noticed anything weird in the air, besides rain, which I'm sick of. We've all had flu's not too long ago, so wheezing from that, but it's clearing up finally.
