(Reuters) - People protesting against a planned nuclear power plant in Jaitapur attacked a hospital and torched buses on Tuesday

Protests led by opposition politicians shut down towns near the site of the $10 billion plant in Maharashtra where anger over land acquisitions has intensified after the nuclear crisis in Japan.

"The situation is very tense out here," protester leader Amjad Abdul Latif Borkar told Reuters.

Five demonstrators were taken to hospital with bullet wounds, and at least six policemen were injured, the administration head in the town of Ratnagiri told Reuters.

Chief of police in the town, 60km (38 miles) north of the site of the planned plant at Jaitapur, said at least 20 people had been injured.

Protesters attacked and damaged a hospital to prevent a government autopsy on the activist killed on Monday. Protesters think the autopsy will not be impartial.

Good for them. Bullets? So

Good for them.

Bullets? So the powers that be are willing to kill for their nuclear power?

People will have to decide. Will they listen to these criminals, like the CEOs of GE and TEPCO? Will they listen to the nuclear "useful idiots" who insist - despite all factual evidence to the contrary - that since you cannot prove cause and effect therefore nuclear power is perfectly safe?

The leaders of the nuclear industry and the politician scum who enable them belong in jail for the rest of their pathetic lives. And yet, there is not one ******* politician willing to stand up and state the obvious.

Instead of torching a bus, the angry mob should converge on the homes of the people who own these filthy corporations, fully equipped with tar, feathers, torches, and pitchforks.

So you are saying more

So you are saying more people were injured in the protest than have been injured in the nuclear "dissaster" in Japan?

Considering that a New York

Considering that a New York Academy of Sciences published, peer-reviewed paper, a million people died because of Chernobyl.

Fukushima is *worse* than Chernobyl.
