Chernobyl data
I'm not sure if anyone has seen this article yet...

The levels we are experiencing seem a lot lower than in this article from Chernobyl. I'd be interested in other people's thoughts.
Thanks.

Chernobyl Fallout Map
Here is a good map of the Chernobyl fallout. What is interesting is that thousands of miles north of Chernobyl had areas of massive fallout yet just a couple hundred miles to the east of Chernobyl there was very little fallout. The map clearly shows that it was a crap-shoot as to which areas receive the high levels of contamination. The large variance in fallout has been attributed to the wind direction and the rain which draws the radioactive particles out of the air and concentrates them on the surface.
The radiation from the Chernobyl disaster was emitted only over a matter of days. The Fukushima disaster has been emitting radiation for over a month now with no end in sight. Estimates are that the high levels of radiation will continue for another 6 months to a year! Not very comforting.
