How bad is the air and water in Japan?

Or are the winds blowing it all away and eastward? I'm just curious why we don't hear anything about the Iodine-131 in Japans drinking water? We heard a report like 3 weeks ago about it, what about now? How are the Japanese dealing with this? I know as a culture they tend to put a little too much faith in their authorities though.

I think that they are still being told to drink bottled water in Tokyo? I am not sure about that.
