Slightly off topic, radiation in Iraq

I was speaking to a student of mine today, who is from Iraq. She came in to ask me about this radiation from Japan, since she knew I had an interest in it. I was not aware of this, but it seems that the Gulf War left quite a bit of radiation in Iraq, and also what they locally believe are numerous incidences of cancer.

Just doing a quick google, this was the first link that I found, so certainly not checked for accuracy: http://roblosricos.wordpress.com/about/the-radioactive-wasteland-that-wa...
Didn't want to get into the politics of it, but just to show that there seem to be so many sources of radiation that we are probably unaware of. Sure wish those EPA monitors from before the earthquake gave more reliable historical data.

radiation in Iraq

It is common knowledge among those working in Iraq that there are high levels of radiation. I personally know a couple of people who were there for over five years who are suffering toxicity. Since they are not military and have doctors outside the system their complaints are not brushed off.

It's not just Iraq, we have

It's not just Iraq, we have used DU in lots of countries that we have invaded. I have heard reports of it being used in the states in police activity and at firing ranges. I don't think it was an accident that the EPA monitors weren't working correctly.
