4/7 - 4/8 air sample data impacted by rain "scrubbing"?

I'm curious if the 4/7 - 4/8 air data would be artificially low due to the "scrubbing" of particles from the atmosphere during the rain shown in the 4/6 - 4/7 rain data.

Absolutely -- the rain is a

Absolutely -- the rain is a very efficient scrubber, which is why the rainwater is one of the most effective ways to look for fallout.

Rain

I have been wondering about the effect of rain too. I live in Olympia, Washington and it rains all the time here--Is most of the material falling into the ocean with the rain? And if so, how is it that there are still measurable amounts in milk and other measures? Is it just that we can detect such infinitesimal amounts?

Thanks for the response. As

Thanks for the response. As a follow-up, does that mean that a first rain (after no rain for some time) rather than continuous rain (more than 1 day) will have more particles?

I guess what I'm asking is if the 1 time rain data for 4/6 - 4/7 cannot be compared to the previous rains since they were continuous?
