Radiation level at Ohio site?
I received a report in 2004 on radiation levels at an old abandoned industrial site 3/4 mile from my home. It reads: During a site walkover by the Ohio EPA in 1992 radioactivity in some of the titanium piles was noted:They determined the background to be 15% and some of the piles were reading 45%. The department of health physicists did not raise concern. In addition, U.S. EPA surveyed the area usuing a radiation detector on April 26,2004, and found a high value of 64uR/hr, which is approximately 4 times background. These results concur with ODH's previously evaluation.
As I am a former Board of Health member of the city in which this was or is being investigated, I am curious as to what these levels mean to our citizens, as I am not a physicists. Also the cancer rate including that of my 15 year old daughter diagnosed with Oligodendroglioma state 2 we are living less than a mile from this site.
Appreciate your input.
