Storage containers exposed to rainwater

We have several heavy duty plastic containers of bottled water stored on our patio and were drenched during the rains we had two weeks ago. Having 4 young children, I was wondering if the water is still safe to drink. Do the radioactive particles that were found in the rainwater have the ability to penetrate the plastic containers?

Joseph- Thank u for answering. I hope it didn't seem like a silly question..I'm still trying to grasp all of this and minimize my childrens exposure all at the same time. The information and forums have been helpful. So truly, thank you.
