Please, see this link: What does it mean? There is absolutely no level of Uranium that is not dangerous...!!

Uranium is present naturally in virtually all soil
Uranium is present naturally in virtually all soil, rock and water. Uranium in soil and rocks is distributed throughout the environment by wind, rain and geologic processes. Rocks weather and break down to form soil, and soil can be washed by water and blown by wind, moving uranium into streams and lakes, and ultimately settling out and reforming as rock. Uranium can also be removed and concentrated by people through mining and refining. These mining and refining processes produce wastes such as mill tailings which may be introduced back into the environment by wind and water if they are not properly controlled. Manufacturing of nuclear fuel, and other human activities also release uranium to the environment.
A person can be exposed to uranium by inhaling dust in air, or ingesting water and food. The general population is exposed to uranium primarily through food and water. The average daily intake of uranium from food ranges from 0.07 to 1.1 micrograms per day. The amount of uranium in air is usually very small. People who live near federal government facilities that made or tested nuclear weapons, or facilities that mine or process uranium ore or enrich uranium for reactor fuel, may have increased exposure to uranium.
The greatest health risk from large intakes of uranium is toxic damage to the kidneys, because, in addition to being weakly radioactive, uranium is a toxic metal. Uranium exposure also increases your risk of getting cancer due to its radioactivity. Since uranium tends to concentrate in specific locations in the body, risk of cancer of the bone, liver cancer, and blood diseases (such as leukemia) are increased. Inhaled uranium increases the risk of lung cancer.

You eat and drink Uranium
You eat and drink Uranium all the time. It's naturally in soil, food and water.

wrong. a person with commonsense wouldn't ingest a highly radioactive toxic substance. and that includes uranium.
nuclear reactor explosion close-ups
watch these youtube videos and you decide.

The EPA detected Uranium in THE AIR, not in soil.
I don´t think there should be any detectable uranium-234 in the air at all.
In soil it is only found in very small amounts (0.0054%).
Even if uranium-234 is naturally occurring, it could also have been released from the reactors. I would love it if you can prove me wrong. Please, do.

this thread and others
Why is there constant bashing going on about somebody's legitimate concern of these recent events. It only perpetuates the fear and skepticism. Please politely answer as best you can for you are representing your University. It discredits your responses when you don't. I for one would also like this to be proven false. I live in CA with two children and send them outside to play each day. I am scared with what has happened that this is not such a good idea. The public is only looking for answers for which we do not have access to for our health and future generations health.
It may sound like fear mongering to you, but to the average person (and I too have a science background) it is a natural response to an event like this.
eat a banana, go to jail or box of chocolates continued...
thank you. i knew early on we were probably going to get heavily dosed with radiation from the fukushima nuclear disaster. and it was just getting worse. this was before i had any idea whatsoever that the who the jetstream operated and specific things like that. my initial thinking was that putting one, let alone six, nuclear reactors -at this site alone, right next to the ocean, was complete and total madness and extremely impossible to justify. and only to discover that the main island of japan is dotted with these things. this was like a script from a bad sciencefiction movie, to be sure. the Talking Heads weren't putting their usual ridiculous lukewarm spin on this, in fact they weren't even spinning this at all. government and science agencies said absolutely nothing credible, this is when i started to become really worried.

Mr Kazoo is a troll and is spreading unsubstantiated assumptions. He has no accurate data and is full of lies.
Every attempt is made to counter his disinformation with fact.

your unscientific jargon and remote, candycoated childish trollspew is unobjective and irrelevant, and only proves nothing. prove me wrong, if you can. otherwise grow a pair. man. rofl.
Mr kazoo should not be
Mr kazoo should not be trusted. The links are for planting 'flowers' or spyware I suspect. He contradicts himself at every turn and refuses to back up his fear mongering with any credible information. I'm just suprised he hasn't been addressed by the team for his blatant attempts to generate fear and disinformation. I would highly suggest ignoring this particular troll.
seven times never wrong.
seven times never wrong. kazoo has integrity and commonsense, something you can only dream about. you however are stuck in your dreary, delusional, shadowy, zombiefied, mindless, glorified dreamworld, where worshipping the green god is your raison d'tre.
I don't know what to believe
I don't know what to believe anymore. I'm not that sort of person. I'm just scared for my family. I want to be informed so I can give my kid the best chance possible at a healthy life. I don't want to believe the doomsayers and it's hard to believe our government would let so many people suffer from their failure to properly address the situation.
