Cesium Concern

Thank you for posting all these measurements. My concern is that in each product that contains Cesium, even though the measurements are well below what would cause too much radiation in the body to cause harm, that is only for one product eaten one time. What about all the products that will now contain Cesium that lasts for 30 years that we eat all day long? This clearly shows that it will have a cumulative effect and keep building in our systems as we eat a variety of food products all day long every day for the rest of our life? What can we do about this? Are there food products that don't absorb Cesium well? This stuff does not go away like Radioactive Iodine. Also, why isn't the EPA testing for Cesium anywhere in the US and posting results? That is not fair to the public????

example for Germany cesium in soil

Cesium will stay in the soil for decades. For example, the cesium that came down from chernobyl in the Bavarian Forrest continues to be there to a degree where no mushrooms or deer can be eaten from that area.
It is just a sad truth. Even more than 25 years after the accident, the soil in Southern Germany is basically useless.
Let us face this, the damage that the nuclear reactors can do in an accident far outhweigh the benefits. I hope, that by now every person even if you own stocks in the nuclear industry, will realize.
It is a war against humanity and we are about to lose it.
If there were no nuclear plants we would not have to face this agony and decreased quality of life.
SO please let us all get together and demand the shut down of all nuclear power plants as this is the logical result of that.

To my knowledge there is not much of dispersing of cesium in the soil, it is something the nuclear industry suggests.

Cesium concern- please reply

First of all thank you so much for providing such a service. I'm very grateful. I'm also beginning to be concerned about cesium in the ground mainly because of its half-life of 30 years. Does it mean that we are now facing a longer term problem than if we were just dealing with radioactive iodine? Will cesium measured in milk and vegetable today persist in the next 30 years? I'm a nursing mother and also have a 3 years old. Is it ok for me to keep drinking milk and then breastfeed my daughter? And how about the long term risk for her when she starts drinking regualar milk?

Please please reply. This is my first post and really would appreciate any feedback.
Thank you so much.
S.

I am not a scientist.

I am not a scientist. However I found the following link quite intelligible (but not comforting).
http://www.psr.org/resources/health-risks-releases-radioactivity.pdf

Thanks for this link. It has another study linked in it

which I have posted as a new topic which i fouind REALLY helpful if not too reassuring:

http://www.seri-us.org/sites/default/files/EpiOverview.pdf

The bottom line is that every day operating nuke plants emit radionuclides LEGALLY even though their are epidemiological studies showing substantial increase in childhood leukemia, cancer, hypothyroidism, etc in those downwind of the plants.

But this study looks at a LOT of studies and is exceptionaly helpful.

Thanks for posting the link and I encourage folks to take a look at the site I posted if you really want to learn a lot more about the risks we are all facing.

a response on this would be nice, BRAWN folks

if it is in everything, it will bioaccumulate which is worrisome.

any thoughts?

Milk Radiation Info

Hello

I have some of the same concerns. There is not a lot of good info coming from the epa. I found some good stuff about milk here: Radiation, Milk & Iodine

The rest of the website has some really good info on the EPA and radiation. Hope it helps.

Joseph, When you were

Joseph,
When you were talking about Cesium dissipating, were you referring to it only in the ground where food is grown, or about Cesium in general? Specifically, I'm wondering about how long it might stay in the air with it's long half-life.(I've noticed the numbers seem to be going down in your latest test results).
Thanks for the great service you're providing to to the public.
