I-131 air and water date prior to 3/11?

Thanks to UCB for opening up this forum.

Just curious if you have any air and water sample data that shows I-131 concentrations prior to the earthquake and tsunami that impacted Japan on 3/11.

It would be interesting to compare sampling results prior to the reactor damage to the results that are being reported now. Any chance you could add that data to the sampling tables you are already producing and putting online?

We did not start making these measurements at UC Berkeley until after the earthquake. However, I-131 is not normally present in the environment at all. Other radioisotopes such as potassium and thorium series are in the rain normally, in very low amounts.
