Naked truth about the US government radiation monitoring system
It took me a while to understand that the current EPA radiation monitoring station set up in different cities in the use is ONLY measuring GAMMA rays. We learned sadly that the more dangerous particles, such as Plutonium, Uranium, and Strontium, and others emit only very LITTLE GAMMA rays, therefore at this current time, the US DOES NOT HAVE A SYSTEM IN PLACE TO MONITOR FOR THE ARRIVAL AND LEVEL OF plutonium, uranium and strontium. Meaning, there could be a plutonium cloud over us and NOONE would know.
HOw can this be safe? As I mentioned, I did see a black cloud over San Francisco, with black particles in it. If the RADNET data does not pick up alpha emissions, then this could have very well been a plutonium cloud and NOONE in San Francisco would know it.
WE NEED TO DEMAND OFFICIAL TESTRESULTS FOR PLUTONIUM, URANIUM and Strontium or we will ALL LEAVE THE COUNTRY AND THE US government has no more people to harm!!!
WAKE UP PEOPLE! WE NEED TO DEMAND THE RESULTS OF THESE TESTS!

You can see from
You can see from here:
http://www.epa.gov/enviro/facts/radnet/timeline.html
that these capabilities once existed and then were terminated.
The EPA doesn't keep track of sources of contamination where it is widespread. They don't measure naturally occurring Uranium, Radioactive Lead, Radon and Polonium in water because every water source carries these contaminents as background and natural sources. But, they are present.
Most likely all of the nuclear testing has spread Plutonium and Strontium around to the degree that the EPA sees little benefit to continue to monitor these elements because of the long halflives.
Even if UCB found Plutonium, you need to realize that it's already present in the soil from weapons testing, and is difficult to identify as recent. They need very sensitive machines to detect these elements and even detection has a high error rate.
This is inaccurate. There
This is inaccurate. There are two components to Radnet monitoring. The first is realtime data which is cumulative beta and gamma. The Radnet monitors, one is near my house, are just little boxes with a Geiger counter and a particulate trap (filter).
The filter is changed out once a week and sent to Alabama for analysis. It is very possible that the lab has the equipment to detect Plutonium, etc.
The data you see publicly on Radnet only comes from the realtime monitor station. The results of the lab analysis are only shared insdie the EPA and with other government divisions.
If you want the data, you need to get a FOIA subpoena.
