Seaweed and Carrageenan concerns.

Pretty high levels of radiation have been found in seaweed along the BC coast. It seems some of this seaweed is for human consumption. Aside from that, the radiation can travel up the food chain and bio-accumulate in animals even those far from Japan.

Even more worrisome is carrageenan, an extract of seaweed used in a variety of products including food, toothpaste and skin care products as a thickener.

According to that site most of it is from the Phillipenes, though that doesn't diminish the concern. Would the heavy processing of carrageenan concentrate or dilute any contamination?
