Please use the site for the data and valuable content it presents and determine its value to you*. Being antagonistic to the hosts of this forum is simply useless. If they are not doing something you think they should be doing, yelling at them and hurling accusations at them isn't going to change anything.
A better direction of that energy would be setting up INDEPENDENT information networks to monitor this kind of stuff so that the next time this occurs, or as this event continues to unfold, we will have even better resources at our disposal.

I am only responding to you to ask you to STOP and focus on what they CAN answer as reasonably as possible. Otherwise you run the risk of getting things shut down for all of us who need this site for the best info out there we can find.

It seems NO ONE is testing for strontium, plutonium etc
but given the report today that debris blew a mile into the air in the first blast and plutonium is being found some 500 meters from reactor 1 (NHK reported this but said it was from prior nuke tests not THEM) I would suggest someone needs to be testing for it.
But the BRAWN team is not equipped right now to test for it. I have no idea who is.
EPA's stats only go to about March 25th on their page.
When things are not reported it looks suspicious.

dude. My girlfriend is fourteen weeks pregnant. her and this baby are my whole universe. we are west coast... This is too sad to grasp without taking into account everyone else affected. All i can think about is that baby. I am truly shaken to the core.

this scenario is my worst child hood fear plus a baby i never pictured myself lucky enough to have. i can't tell you how much your congratulations and your reassurance means. this deluge of information is hard to digest...it's too much and sometimes too painful or scary to contemplate the consequences and the world our little one will face. thank you. i guess i came to this forum to vent my fears and frustration and ignorance, i never expected to hear a direct reply from one of you incredible folks...i apologize for my hysteria and again thank you for the reality check and humanity.

There are a lot parents on here who are in the same boat you are. Don't feel like you are alone at there. There is a lot of lack of information but there is also a LOT of wrong, or overblown information. It's great the BRAWN team is willing to put their feelings online and say how they are personally dealing with what we are seeing.
For the rest of us: Some of us are not comfortable with even the minute readings. So we are choosing to do whatever we can to limit our exposure. If you are worried about her being pregnant, there is things she can do to limit her exposure and therefore the baby's. Some of us are doing little things, like switching to soy milk (which is, btw, just as full of calcium as milk and it is also considered a "complete protein", therefore it will also help with her meeting her daily protein servings she should be getting in a day), she can also eat almonds and other nuts to help provide a vegetable protein source (When I was pregnant with my daughter, meat grossed me out, so I had to find other sources of protein. Remember, she needs it for the baby and after birth for her milk supply). A lot of us have switched to drinking bottled or filtered water and are choosing to stay out of the rain as much as possible. She can avoid leafy greens, like spinach, kale and lettuce, at least until Berkeley can finish their tests and see how much the recent rainfall has actually affected our food supplies. If you are worried about cheese, you can buy block and leave them in the refrigerator for a few weeks. By that point, the possible iodine levels will have died out by quite a bit.
Look back a few pages and look for other posts regarding parents with small children. A lot of us parents posted what we were doing to make our children safer and even if it ends up being completely unnecessary in the long run, you will at least have the satisfaction of knowing you did everything you could to protect your family (within reason). That's how I am choosing to look at it.

After all the posts from the early days on the forum it's nice of you to summarize everything for those looking to avoid exposure if they'd like to. Our family is also taking some of these steps (but no drastic measures or major lifestyle modifications) to keep the incremental exposure for the baby on the way as low as reasonably possible. Pretty disappointed about the latest milk results with Ce-137 :-(

thank you jen. i will be sure look back at those threads and consult my girlfriend about her feelings on taking those extra steps. I am very worried that we have been drinking the milk and boiling with tap water since this began and whether any harm has been done. one day after the tsunami the most amazing double rainbow i have ever seen appeared, my girlfriend turned to me and said, "the bible i had growing up, i remember a part from the story about the flood, that it was god's promise he would never do it again...rainbows like that." i guess a little bit of spirituality never hurt anyone, nor faith and optimism. thank you, all of you sensible folks that are helping us grasp this situation.
