DCF derivation help
How do you get a DCF for iodine-131 in water of 1.851 * 10^-8 Sv/Bq.
When I try to do it it is 20 times bigger.
I used 190 keV for the mean energy of the beta particles is that correct.
If the decay happened in the thyroid I assumed that all of this energy would be absorbed locally.
Then I used the physiological parameters from the ICRP to work out the dose to the thyroid but it came out wrong.
Does your DCF apply to the thyroid or something else.

Oh, I forgot to multiply by
Oh, I forgot to multiply by a weighting factor of 0.05 for the thyroid. But I just realized that the electrons make X-rays. Can you ignore that.
Yes, I was about to ask if
Yes, I was about to ask if you included that. We're using total effective dose equivalent (TEDE) in our calculations, so that factor of 0.05 is included.
