Seattle Times Article 4/4/11

agree

I agree, The EPA is again downplaying the risk, this time for infants in this paragraph:

The levels of iodine-131 in water samples from Richland and Boise — about 0.2 picocuries per liter — are so small the EPA estimates that even an infant would have to drink nearly 7,000 liters to receive a dose of radiation equivalent to a day's worth of normal background radiation. Iodine-131 can be harmful in higher amounts, particularly to babies and young children, because it concentrates in the thyroid gland and can lead to cancer later in life.

I will never ever trust the EPA again in my life.
They do not even post an explanation of the gamma energy ranges 2 to 10. How should we now if there is a spike in what matter?

Another flaw

The other ridiculous part of these arguments is that even if they were true, these levels of radiation are in addition to background radiation, not in place of. Even though you may be able to run 10 miles, just because one mile is only a tenth of it, doesn't mean you can run 11 miles.

They are not to be trusted

They need to stop comaring iodine levels to background radiaton. Background radiation does not cause thyroid cancer.

Sure it does, why not? But

Sure it does, why not? But it's too little to notice compared to all the other cancer that happens anyway. As will be the cancer rate from this stuff.

the problem is that the masses believe them

I completely agree! A few of us have started a FB page in order to share and keep us up to date with all the available information currently not being reported by the main stream media on TV.

If you would like to join us here is the link:

We are just regular people completely in awe of all these events and outraged that external radiation is being compared to internal emitters. :-)

please confirm the FB http address you recently posted

I attempted to visit your site just now but unfortunately only received a webmessage, that the site could not be found. Would you please doublecheck the address you posted, for accuracy? Many thanks.

I too am "just a regular person" but remain deeply concerned about what is happening in Japan. Thank you very much for setting up this FB site for exchange.
