Where is Japan going to dump the tanker full of radioactive water?
I just saw a report on CNN that Japan has filled a tanker with radioactive water and is shipping it "out to sea" for dumping. Does anyone know where they are going to dump it? Is there any oversight on where they are going to release that water? I can't find anything on the internet with more details as to the destination of that tanker. Anyone? I'm a pretty rational person and want to believe that all this radiation will be "diluted" or "dissipate" but were dealing with radioactivity here. Not all of it has a half life of 8 days. Such a bummer I chose Northern California in part because of the healthy environment. I could barely stand the sight of the Chevron refinery from my backyard but now I'm going to be hesitant to go wade in the ocean. I'm almost glad my chocolate lab is gone now, I'd be too afraid to let him romp in the surf.

where are they dumping the radioactive water
Any updates on where they tankers are dumping the radioactive
water from Fukushima?
Here's a handy little ship
Here's a handy little ship tracker from Marine Traffic .com website.
The tankers are shown in red.

I was going to post this link, thanks!
I'd also Blane your
I'd also Blane your government, wherever you are, for not stopping this insanity. Countries have been threatened with sanctions or war for much lesser evils, but somehow if Japan does it, it's acceptable. I have several Japanese, and they all wonder why the world is simply watching and letting the Japanese government get away with destroying their country as well as planet earth.

Sorry for the iPhone typos. I meant to write "blame" and "Japanese friends"...
TEPCO NEEDS TO GO TO JAIL
Never thought I could hate TEPCO like I do now. These guys are criminals, ruining our planet, our life, our future our kids future.
They're dumping it far
They're dumping it far enough off-shore to share some of the burden with the rest of the world instead of contaminating only their fish supply for the next ten-thousand years.
According to the linear no threshold model, this will lead to a significantly smaller number of cancers from eating seafood in Japan, and a smaller percentage (yet same total number) of cancers in other seafood eaters in the rest of the world.
The main incentive is money: If Japanese seafood will continue to agglomerate iodine and cesium to higher levels, the entire fishing industry will break down, it being a huge part of the economy both domestically as well as for export. If you spread the radioactive nuclides over the entire planet, most fish will still not test for above limit. Fishing industries in other countries know this, why they're not feeling an urge to put more pressure on their governments to stop the Japanese from doing this yet.
unbelievable
I don't know why the media isn't talking about this right now:
Kyodo News reports: NEWS ADVISORY: Radioactive iodine 7.5 million times legal limit found in seawater near No. 2 r

PS: By "far enough off
PS: By "far enough off shore" I mean far enough to embed the waste water into trans-pacific currents so it does not fall out in local waters.
I'm the OP and I've been
I'm the OP and I've been scanning the news to a follow up story about the the tanker full of radioactive water that the Japanese "shipped out to sea for disposal" and there's nothing. Nada. The tanker slunk off into the night and who knows where they will dump the contents. We'll probably never know.

Unfortunately, I think that's the objective unless Green Peace shows up.
