Alternate Forum (Sort Of)
Okay. I thought about this long, and hard, and deliberately. And I believe the world is nearing an event horizon beyond which events will cascade, with increasing speed, out of control, threatening our health, our wealth, our security, our way of life -- perhaps, our very lives and those of our loved ones.
And I have decided that it's not enough to simply do what I've been doing: Talking to friends and family, posting here, trying to alert the media, and putting links and information up on my Personal FaceBook Page. It's just not fast enough, or effective enough, or ENOUGH enough. While The Powers That Be are fiddling, fidgeting and frigging this up, Japan continues to burn, threatening EVERYTHING.
I have decided that it's TIME TO STAND UP AND MAKE MYSELF HEARD.
I have, just now, created a new FaceBook Group: "DEMAND U.S. GOV'T. ACTION & ACCOUNTABILITY RE: ONGOING JAPAN NUCLEAR EVENT". I intend to start something with it.
I don't know what I want to do, yet. I need some sleep, I need to think some more. But, for the first (and, I hope, last) time in my life, I INTEND TO BECOME AN ACTIVIST. I INTEND TO PROTEST. I INTEND TO STIR THINGS UP AND DRAW ATTENTION TO THIS GLOBAL CONSPIRACY OF SILENCE, DISTRACTION AND INACTION.
And I would like to invite you, and everyone you know, to join me.
I've never even thought about doing anything like this before. I don't really know what I'm doing. Four weeks ago -- not much more than four DAYS ago -- I would have laughed myself silly if someone suggested to me that I could willingly embark down such a path.
So -- I'm going to need HELP. If you agree with what I intend to do, I will ask you to STAND WITH ME. Share the information (ACTUAL information, not happy-feely-goody propaganda), you come into possession of. Ask the questions that are nagging at you. Post the links you think are educational, helpful, and illuminating. Type up your thoughts, your concerns, and, most critically, your SOLUTIONS.
But perhaps most importantly: SPREAD THE WORD. We don't have a lot of time, I suspect.
Berkeley Lab staff, and readers, I apologize -- this is a dreadful misuse of this Forum. But I hope you can understand my motivation, here, and even if you disagree with my reasons and conclusions, that you can live with it.
I have realized that IT'S TIME TO PUT UP OR SHUT UP. Everyone here, everyone who knows me, knows how worried I am. But I'm not content to just fog up the echo chamber with my rantings, anymore. I AM GOING TO ***DEMAND*** INFORMATION, CLARIFICATION, AND ACTION OF THIS GOVERNMENT... Of this WORLD, if possible. I INTEND TO BE A PEBBLE IN THE SHOE OF THOSE WHO ARE IGNORING THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES, THEIR CONSTITUENTS, AND THE WELFARE OF THE WORLD ENTIRE.
In the words of Dr. "Doc" Emmet Brown: WE MUST SUCCEED. Let's see what happens.

We have a very active
We have a very active discussion going at the IAEA facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/iaeaorg
Thanks!
...I went to the IAEA site, "Liked" them and "Recommended" them, and promptly tossed a post up on their site "promoting" the FB Group. It was taken down within two minutes. (I am not surprised.)
Rick.

I almost forgot...
THANK YOU to the entire staff of the Berkeley Lab, for their patience, their forebearance, their concern, their sensitivity, their responsiveness, their dedication... But perhaps most of all, for their tireless efforts to bring light to what has been shrouded in darkness by The Powers That Be. You guys are my heroes; bless you. I'll stop posting non-germane stuff here, now; I'll take it from here, guys.
It goes without saying, that if you would like to join the "DEMAND U.S. GOV'T. ACTION & ACCOUNTABILITY RE: ONGOING JAPAN NUCLEAR EVENT" FaceBook Group, I would be pleased and honored, and humbled.
Keep up the work you're doing, guys. You are a beacon in a very bleak night.
Rick.
