New milk testing

To UCB, thanks for the continued information and your efforts. Glad to see new milk tests will be forthcoming. When you post the results, please give a little more information on how and what you tested, to help us decide our own course of action with regard to drinking/not drinking milk at least for a while. Things like: did you mix multiple brands for the tested sample?; were the samples all/some from local (Bay Area) dairies and were they from organic or free range cows (from grass possibly contaminated) or hay fed cows; were your test samples from dairies outside of California, or those that may have fed their stock old feed, i.e., feed likely not contaminated? As you may know, much supermarket milk in the Bay Area can come from dairies located just about anywhere in the Western US. So to me, giving data on tested milk that has been described generically as "purchased locally" means to me that I must assume ALL milk I see in the stores will have the same test data you post. I know you can't test every single milk brand or source out there, but a bit more info on the sampling protocols will make the data more useful to us readers...

Thanks for your suggestion

Thanks for your suggestion -- we found out at the beginning of our testing that there are, as you point out, many factors going into milk production. Because we really want to get an idea of the local Bay Area situation, we decided upon testing milk from a Bay Area dairy that is organic and the cows eat local grass (confirmed with the dairy). We'll make a note of this with the update, which should be later today.

We also changed the wording to be "locally sourced" instead of "locally bought" because, as you noted, "locally bought" doesn't mean much.

Sounds good. You may want

Sounds good. You may want to nail down "locally sourced" a little more, such as dairy within 9 county Bay Area, or which county, or similar. I know you probably can't say which dairy, if it is only one, but "locally sourced" is still pretty vague, and might mean one thing to me (9 county Bay Area) and another to somebody else (entire NorCal).
