Appreciation of your monitoring and information rellease

I am a Technician and have a lot of concerned people asking me my opinion of the situation in Japan. Hard numbers are hard to come by and I am grateful for all the data that your organization has published. I can now give quantitative and authoritative answers to their concerns. Dave Ornellas NRRPT

I too really appreciate all

I too really appreciate all of the work your team is doing. Thanks for making your findings public and for presenting it in both technical and layman's terms. The EPA's Daily Data Summary regarding Fukushima is so sanitized http://www.epa.gov/japan2011/data-updates.html. Here's what they say everyday...

"As of 4:30pm (EDT) EPA's RadNet radiation air monitors across the U.S. show typical fluctuations in background radiation levels. The levels detected are far below levels of concern.".

You guys are doing a way better job communicating your findings with the public than our own goverenment. I guess my parent's money was well spent in sending my two siblings to Berkeley. Keep up the good work!

Keep up the great work!

Glad to help, Dave.

I wish to 2nd the praise for

I wish to 2nd the praise for the Berkeley team. I live in Central California, and at the onset of this event I was quite concerned. Fear of the unknown is worse than having the facts. Your work has clarified the situation and made me and my family feel much better. Just remember, for every person that is critical of you, there are 100s like me that are sleeping at night because of your fine and thoughtfull work.

Amen

"Just remember, for every person that is critical of you, there are 100s like me that are sleeping at night because of your fine and thoughtfull work."

Seriously, could not have said it any better myself. If you ever doubt our appreciation, remember all the parents out there who are trying to take a "fore warned is fore armed" type approach and you are making it so we can at least sleep at night. Sure, we can never really tell what the eventual end results of all of this will be, but in the meantime, you have no idea how much of a crazy mom I would be if you guys were not doing this.

So I thank you. Sincerely.

Thanks for a great

Thanks for a great thread...sometimes this is needed because our team is working quite literally night and day. In fact as I write this I am getting notices in my drop box of data and analysis files being added for review and report.

Even if we are critical of

Even if we are critical of certain aspects of the research, we deeply appreciate your efforts. If you are in need of volunteers, I bet many here would be willing to help. I am.

Your vigilance and hard work

Your vigilance and hard work have exceeded our expectations many times.

This is why we love CA - it's not just the great weather and the natural beauty. It's because it has the best and the brightest. Noone yet has done what you are doing, right now - providing the public with real data, in real time, in a format that anyone can understand, in a medium that practically anyone can access at any time.

I was hoping for a website, I just didn't dare hope for real time data and a public forum. What more could we possibly want?
