Cesium

Hello:

I had a question in regards to cesium and iodine. During the rain, some objects do get wet, like bags, car seats, clothes. Does the cesium attach to these objects and stay active there? If that is the case, what should we do with objects that get wet, if we take them inside the house, are they sources of radiation? If so, would washing the objects with soap and water eliminate the cesium and iodine?
