How can the public trust honest disclosure on the part of UCB given it is part of the UC system that also runs Lawrence LIvermore Labs? And LLL receives huge grants to continue research into nuclear weapons?
How can UCB remain neutral and honest?
If you delete this, then everyone can assume that most of the findings you post should be held suspect.

deal with the health and well being of you and your family during this crisis. there have been some excellent tips on how to do that in this forum. use it.. or dont...

To everyone who has trust issues: We are posting the ACTUAL data. We are not shielding anything from anyone nor is anyone telling us what to post. If you have any technical issues with our data, we would love to hear it. If you want to do your own calculations, feel free. The data is in front of you. We want to provide this as a service to the public and spend our energy making sure the numbers are correct. If you have trust issues, the only thing I can tell you is to do your own calculations and challenge the results in a technical fashion.

This is a great question, and of course we are not attacking you. Japan has been misleading from the very beginning saying everything is fine, now they come out crying on TV saying it's lethal, the water is unsafe etc. They also admitted that they are not measuring the radiation, they are "estimating"! They have the equipment to measure, why don't they get exact readings? The EPA's website is sometimes down, also difficult to navigate. Why not have a live reading on the EPA's home page with all the info for anyone to see? Keep in mind the EPA said on 911 the air was safe to breath, now the first responders are dying and many have died from the asbestos which they KNEW was in the air. What about the new smoke coming out? What about the neutron beams seen shooting out (evidence of a meltdown)? Bottom line, they should be dumping cement on these reactors! That's what stopped Chernobyl. Instead they keep sending their own people to get radiated, the 180 brave men who are sure to be poisoned, also threatening the entire world with radiation.
Yet, the US media says "save your money on iodide and donate it to charity". "Everything is fine", "safe levels", as they completely drop the story as if it's a non issue. If this is a 6 out of 7 disaster, this IS the issue, not the unconstitutional war in Libya.
So please, keep your work honest, do the right thing and keep up the good work.

I don't think they are deleting posts. The error could be on your end. A couple times I thought I had posted something and come back and it wasn't there. But it was my fault I had pressed the wrong button on submit (preview) and just assumed I had posted it.
So this post hasn't been deleted, so I guess they are not censoring, case closed. Back to the matter at hand.
Personally I would be sick of getting accused of misinformation and just shut the forum down, so I could get back to my job of testing for radiation. These people are trying their best to answer your questions and do their job. If you don't trust their data, why are you here reading the data. It makes no sense. Why would they put so much effort into providing this data, making charts, helping you understand it, do tests that the public requests, etc.. if it was all fake.
Remember that this is an educational institute and since their data is made public any other scientist or educational institution around the world could double check their results and challenge them if needed. Do you think Berkley would really risk international ridicule by posting false information. Come on people. If you don't like the info, move on.

The deleted comment was a spam message in Russian, advertising a paid job for students' paper/thesis writing. It had nothing to do with the subject of this forum. Not to mention that paying to get your paper/thesis written would be construed as cheating.

In reality, this monitoring team consists of a professor and graduate students, who are not connected with Lawrence Livermore Lab. We are citizens of Berkeley and the surrounding area, so one could say we have a personal stake in monitoring the water and air for radioactivity.
If you don't want to believe our results, buy your own detector and monitoring equipment.

Absolutely NO need to get defensive and yes, the EPA has been NOTORIOUS for lying to the public. Let's just look at ground zero of 9/11 and the BP spill just to name a few.

Tell the 911 first
Tell the 911 first responders how honest the EPA is. There is documented proof that they knew the air was deadly at ground zero and then told the rescuers that the air was safe to breathe.
Do you also trust the EPA to raise the safe levels? That is what they are busy doing right now.
