I was so pleased to find this site. I have to admit that the vague reassurances that we have all heard on the new haven't been very satisfying. I have been particularly bothered by the comparisons of intake of radionuclides to airplane flights. I found your explanations in these comments to be very helpful. I'm also pleased that someone is making this sort of data public. It is just easier for me to believe your data (after I reviewed the methods etc) than some journalist who is repeating talking points out of a press release. Thanks!
PS I am an asbestos consultant and I do lots of air sampling for particulate, and I laughed my head off after I saw the shop vacuum sampling train. Brilliant.
Sometimes the easiest solutions are the best solutions. However, the real work is in calibrating the data we get out of the system. The students and I have worked very hard to make sure these numbers are close to reality.
Many thanks
