Peter Hosemann to Receive Two Awards at the 2015 TMS Meeting

Peter Hosemann Wins Top Reviewer Award

Professor Peter Hosemann received an award for exceptional contribution to the quality of the Journal of Nuclear Materials and was rated the top reviewer in 2013.  The award was presented to Professor Hosemann on October 27 at NuMat 2014: The Nuclear Materials Conference in Clearwater, Florida.


High Flux Neutron Generator Commissioning

This summer, the High Flux Neutron Generator (HFNG) was completed, installed and entered into commissioning phase in the NE Department nuclear laboratory.  Designed and constructed under NSF funding, the HFNG is a plasma-based source, producing 2.45 MeV neutrons from DD fusion.


Professor Rachel Slaybaugh to Receive the ANS Young Members Excellence Award

Professor Rachel Slaybaugh will be awarded the 2014 ANS Young Members Excellence Award for her exemplary leadership in and contributions to the field of nuclear engineering. She will be presented with the award on November 10, 2014 at the American Nuclear Society annual meeting in Anaheim, CA.
