ESCORE is a FORTRAN computer code for predicting best-estimate, steady-state
fuel performance for operation in Light Water Reactor cores. ESCORE is
capable of describing fuel characteristics for use in transient analyses
and fuel thermal limit calculations performed as part of the safety analysis.
ESCORE can also be used as a design tool to evaluate the capability of a fuel
design configuration to retain physical integrity thoughout its expected
operating lifetime. Additionally, ESCORE can be used to establish technical
specifications on permissible linear heat rates, peaking factors, and other
limits to preclude fuel damage.
