
The Advanced Nuclear Engineering Computing Laboratory
The Department has a new Advanced Nuclear Engineering Computing Laboratory (ANECL) dedicated to both research and course work. The ANECL cluster consists of 5 Sun Ultra Sparc workstations, 1 Sun Sparc 20 workstation, 2 Sun Sparc 10 workstations, 5 Sparc 2s, 2 ELCs, and 10 Sun 386i workstations. In addition, more than 30 microcomputers (Macs and IBM PCs) are available for students, faculty and staff. ANECL has an extensive software library for Nuclear Engineering applications, word processing, graphics/plotting, and parallel programming. In addition, ANECL has access to university-operated mainframe computers and Internet. Computers at the Lawrence Laboratories are also available.
