Who is behind ENENEWS???
Who is behind enenews.com, the site known as Energy News, which, for the time being, has been focusing solely on the fallout of the Japanese nuclear disaster?
The short answer is, we don’t know.
A domain registration lookup shows its private registration with the mysteriously named DomainSecrecy.net.
A ping of the domain shows the address of 98.158.182.89, which traces back to the internet domain host provider UK2 Group, which is located in Providence, Utah.
It is a mysterious site, indeed, with no About page, no mention of its authors, contact info, or its sources of funding, despite 144 posts since its inception on March 18, 2011.
With less than one full month online, the site already has a one-month Alexa rating of 129,331th place among over 20 million ranked sites on the Web.
What we do see, however, are scary headlines citing mass media sources, with added editorial.
For instance, the March 29 headline, Radioactive Iodine-131 in Pennsylvania rainwater sample is 3300% above federal drinking water standard.
3300% higher is 33 times higher, but 3300% sounds a lot scarier. The headline also draws a word association between rainwater and drinking water, despite going on to mention the mass media source that says a 3300% higher amount of radioactive iodine in rainwater samples is still 25 times less than would be of concern. Also, nowhere does the article mention that the half-life of radioactive iodine is eight days.
The article, however, adds emphasis in bold to the amount of radiation found in the rainwater samples and to the maximum EPA levels for drinking water, further making an association.
In the meantime, while many Americans are being focused on a very serious crisis for the Japanese, their focus is consequently shifted away from the more directly relevant unlawful presidential war decree on Libya, and the zero prosecutions for fraud against those who knowingly marketed subprime securities as AAA, unlike the more than a thousand convictions of the criminals involved in the far smaller savings and loan crisis of the 1980s.

Dispersion. Negligible
Dispersion. Negligible levels. BRAWMS PROFESSIONAL CREDIBILITY. God-damn it! This must be what hell is like: arguing in circles with a faceless anon and having your psyche clumsily picked apart.
You are a faceless anon.

Well I've been fighting
Well I've been fighting ignorance on the web since 2005, maybe we have bumped heads before?
Sorry, can't reveal my secret identity, all my arch enemies would find out and put my friends/family at unnecessary risk.

Come on buddy...let's just
Come on buddy...let's just be realistic and SPOCK logical for a second. Have I not made some valid points here???
You said Rad net is testing
You said Rad net is testing milk.
You said I called your points red herrings 200 times when the real number was 1.
You are so upset about this (Enenews.com) website profiting on this disaster that you completely let the government and industry off the hook.
I think you inferred that enenews.com are terrorists, pretty strong words for someone without a lick of proof.
You attacked Bill Duff just because he dares to question some of this info.
You didn't like Hillary and Rahm's comments about letting a crisis go to waste (I think)? If so I guess we can agree on that.
It seems like we agreed on
It seems like we agreed on the Monbiot statement linked by bnrc.berkeley.edu too.
Anon...I'm really interested
Anon...I'm really interested in hearing your reply to this.
So why is BRAWM the only
So why is BRAWM the only entity in the entire USA interested in doing any testing?
Again...that has got to be
Again...that has got to be the 200th time you have accused my threads and posts of being "red herrings". Maybe I'm a tool for even posting here and especially for letting my emotions do the talking...but you are a bigger one for all your melodramatic arrogant crap.
I believe this is the second
I believe this is the second time. Do you have links to the other 199?

Yes, you are a melodramatic tool, very well put.

Nope. Sorry. Just another
Nope. Sorry. Just another SHILL that can't stand how you have hijacked every single discussion on the forum for the last several weeks.
Well, that other thread is
Well, that other thread is the only place I have used the term red herring. So are we just making this stuff up out of thin air now?
One hundred and ninety nine links please?
How about you link me to one other instance where I have accused you of employing a red herring?
Shouldn't be hard if I did that 200 times.
Do you smell that?
Hyperbole Bill.
Hyperbole Bill.
Not hyperbole if you can't
Not hyperbole if you can't link to one instance, More like BS.
Maybe if you could point to 5, 10, 20, 100 times I did this it could be hyperbole. You can't cite one outside of this thread.

Once again, (you seem kind of thick) I am not Bill Duff or any other Bill.

The logical fallacies are certainly mounting up on this thread. In fact the entire thread appears to be disruptive in nature. There are enough Red Herrings for a fish fry and too many false dichotomies to count. And for good measure there are numerous ‘straw man’, ad hominem and non sequitor flaws.
I have not previously noted any tendency toward ‘Grand Conspiracy’, or such theorists, on this Berkeley Nuclear Engineering site. No one has ever suggested that the earthquake and tsunami were anything other than random natural geophysical events. I do not recall anyone asserting that the plant was deliberately sabotaged by nefarious intent or that the site crew did anything but their best to maintain the integrity of the reactors. The decision makers at GE, Hitachi, TEPCO, Japan and Areva clearly had some notion of the seismic and tsunami probabilities, which they minimized to cut costs. The players knew they could increase the level of precautions, but probably thought they could ‘get by’ with less.
That being said, there have most certainly been some shills, house players and Agents Provacateurs on this website, some likely in the direct employ of the direct architects of this Fukushima disaster. This thread appears to represent one such attempt to disrupt and discredit any rational discussion of the decisions leading to March 11 and thereafter.
I would love to hear your
I would love to hear your thoughts on this post Bill Duff.
That site is highly
That site is highly monetized. He/she/they are in it for the clicks on ads which brings in money per each click.
Alarmist but helpful
Although enenews is alarmist with its headlines, it has been helpful for finding the source articles and knowing what's going on. And so far, nothing on there's been a lie - just presented in the way media presents things to get your attention.
I think all of the issues you mention (economic fleecing, subprime securities, Libya - and IMO the other attacks) are equally important and that the crisis at Fukushima is not just a Japanese issue. They all scream that we need to stop this madness and the citizens, not the elite and concentrated power need to run our societies.
enenews is the only place with any news at all
Some of the people on this forum are WAY too trusting of our government and the nuclear industry. Just last year we had the BP oil spill. the government and BP grossly under-reported the amount of oil being released, and did everything in their power to prevent the true extent of the damage from being discovered.
Tepco and the Japanese govt. have been doing the same thing since day one. It seems pretty obvious that the US govt. is playing along. Honestly folks, the government and TEPCO have pretty much ZERO credibility.
The EPA? You have got to be kidding me! After 911 the EPA told the rescue workers at ground zero that the air was safe to breathe when they knew it was not. EPA credibility = ZERO.
(I can't for the life of me comprehend how anybody in their right mind would take ANYTHING the GOVERNMENT or the EPA says seriously.)
Call me a conspiracy theorist. fine. at least i can recognize patterns and learn from recent history.
rain water isn't tap water. so what. its radioactive. and those reactors and spent fuel pools in Japan are going to be spreading radiation across the globe by air and by sea for decades to come.
I go to enenews because there is almost zero media coverage of fukushima. that is why most people i know have no idea whats really going on. true story: I was at the bar 2 weeks ago and i told a friend that 3 reactors at Fukushima had full meltdowns. he called me a conspiracy theorist and said "if 3 japanese nuclear reactors had full meltdowns they would be evacuating the west coast!" another guy at the bar agreed with him and they both said i was nuts.
I posted a cnn article confirming the 3 meltdowns on his facebook wall and said "welcome to reality... how the hell are they going to evacuate the west coast? they can't."
the bullies on this forum can keep drinking the koolaid (or milk in this case) and believe everything they are told with 100% confidence if they want to... but it is obvious that NOBODY knows exactly how bad this accident is, and that nobody in the government or nuclear industry ever anticipated an accident of this magnitude. insulting those of us who have a genuine logical and reasonable fear - and who are skeptical of industry/government assurances - is totally uncalled for, and not in the public's best interest in my opinion.
If you'll notice, all of the
If you'll notice, all of the news stories on Enenews are stories that originated elswewhere, typically from NHK's or Kyodo's or Mainichi's english service.
The only thing Enenews provides is the sensationalist headlines. I suppose reading Enenews provides people with a sense of superiority that they are not "drinking the kool-aid" of the mass media.
Ironic that people will believe Enenews is not corporate media, just because it comes repackaged in a slightly offbeat manner. Its also disturbing, because it shows people will read the sensational headline, and will not look any further to get the whole story, or to get the context in which the story exists.
So there hasn't been a cover up?
Get REAL!!!
