There is no ‘Plan-B’
There is no Plan-B for ‘We the People’.
Sheri Fink of the Washington Post informed us “U.S. health-care system unprepared for major nuclear emergency, officials say” (April 7, 2011). If Sheri Fink and/or the Washington Post are to be considered credible, then the USA has NO Strategic (anti-radiation) Drug Stockpile.
I doubt that:
1) The USA has no anti-radiation drug stockpile
2) Sherry Fink is a credible reporter
3) The Washington Post is a credible news source.
Oh, and by the way, last year I personally called the various appropriate federal offices, and they ‘stood by’ this hokey Washington Post story.

In My Humble Opinion, the Strategic (anti-radiation) Drug Stockpile was: 1) spirited away in the dead of night, 2) withheld from exposed USA Left Coast residents, 3) concealed, and 4) lied about. This is nothing out of the ordinary. Such practices are Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Feds. Perhaps we shall examine some of the particulars of this deception.
However, going forward, it is CRYSTAL CLEAR that a decentralized Strategic Drug Stockpile is essential, should the USA citizenry EVER expect to directly benefit from their ‘taxpayer investment’ in survival. IMHO, the USA citizenry would benefit from a decentralized CBRN terrorism agent response capability. Certainly, we are unlikely to benefit from the present sham.

Drop, Cover, Hold,... and SMILE!
Today, at 10:18 AM Pacific Time, there will be a worldwide conditioning exercise known as the Great Shakeout 2012. Unlike previous Great American Shakeout "earthquake" drills, this one includes British Columbia, Italy, Puerto Rico and Guam. Who says our Overseers are not concerned with our safety and, um, compliance? See:

BTW, I did notice that our local pharmacy quietly removed their stock of potassium iodide pills from their shelves shortly after 3/11/2011, to be replaced with a blank stare when I inquired about it.
Remember, everyone - Drop, Cover, Hold,... and SMILE!

Say Farnsworth
Is KI an over-the-counter drug in your state?
Even though it is a relatively common 'Salt', we have to get a prescription to buy it locally.
But can buy a truckload or a pill bottle over the internet.
Also, can't purchase routine vaccines without a prescription.
Of course the kids can 'score' ANY KIND of illegal drug in about a second flat.
Go Figure
The stuff that can (possibly) do us some good is not conveniently available.
It is ALL backwards.
Thus sayeth the CDC...
"KI is available without a prescription. " See http://emergency.cdc.gov/radiation/ki.asp

What A CROCK!
A contemporary congressional report failed to mention any ‘missing anti-radiation drugs’. Ergo,
NO DRUGS are missing. Only the truth is absent.

Project BioShield: Authorities, Appropriations, Acquisitions, and Issues for Congress
Frank Gottron Specialist in Science and Technology Policy May 27, 2011 Congressional Research Service 7-5700 www.crs.gov R41033
In 2004, Congress passed the Project BioShield Act (P.L. 108-276) to encourage the private sector to develop medical countermeasures against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) terrorism agents and to provide a novel mechanism for federal acquisition of those newly developed countermeasures.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Appropriations Act, 2004 (P.L. 108-90) advance appropriated $5.593 billion for FY2004 to FY2013 for CBRN countermeasures acquisition through Project BioShield. Through FY2011, subsequent Congresses have removed $1.461 billion from this account through rescissions and transfers, more than 25% of the advance appropriation. The transfers from this account supported CBRN medical countermeasure advanced development, pandemic influenza preparedness and response, and basic biomedical research. The President’s FY2012 budget requests a transfer of $765 million out of this account to support CBRN countermeasure advanced development and to establish a CBRN countermeasure strategic investment corporation.
IF
IF
If the federal government AKA Team Obama gave ‘a hoot in Hell’ about USA Left Coast citizens, then KI literature and drugs would have been forthcoming during Spring-2011. Ah, but such is not the case.
We could discuss radiation ‘at-risk’ USA citizens in Japan and the Northwest Pacific Ocean, but we would be repeating ourselves.
