NRC schedules meeting in Maryland to discuss restarting San Onofre NPP

SCE sings same lame (TEPCO) SONGS.

SCE sings same lame (TEPCO) SONGS.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON (SCE) has the exact same excuse for their low seawall at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS).

TEPCO engineers predicted HUGE Fukushima tsunami

In the report, Tepco said that before the accident it had been afraid to consider the risk of such a large tsunami, fearing admissions of risk could result in public pressure to shut plants down. “There were concerns that if new countermeasures against severe accidents were installed, concern would spread in host communities that the current plants had safety problems,” the report said.

The company has already admitted, however, that even its own engineers had predicted a far larger tsunami was possible in Fukushima, a finding that the company and regulators both chose to ignore or not make public.

The NPP Industry is comprised, for the most part, of Dangerous Morons, iMHO

You could drown, They did!

Relatives of two engineers killed by the tsunami describe how they tried desperately to find out what happened. The two workers had gone to check reactor 4 after the first quake occurred. They died after being caught by the tsunami in the turbine building.

Book reveals human drama in Fukushima No. 1 crisis

By KAZUAKI NAGATA, Staff writer Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012

Freelance journalist Ryusho Kadota, author of the book "Shi no Fuchi wo Mita Otoko: Yoshida Masao to Fukushima Daiichi Genpatsu no 500 Nichi" ("A Man Who was on the Brink of Death: Masao Yoshida and the Fukushima No. 1 Plant's 500 Days"), managed to interview more than 90 people involved in the containment effort and their family members, Self-Defense Forces personnel and others.

Remarks in the book that were provided by relatives of the workers include those from the family of one of two engineers who were killed by the tsunami, and describe how they tried desperately to find out what happened to him. The two workers had gone to check reactor 4 after the first quake occurred. They died after being caught by the tsunami in the turbine building.

Submarine Depth Rating?

A) What was the 311 Peak Tsunami Wave Height on the Japan Coast?

B) How high is the SO seawall protection from Tsunamis?

C) What is the Depth Rating of this Submarine?

A - B = C

(1) Will the PRIMARY Heat Sinks survive the 240 MPH wave and retain functionality?

Please Describe the Secondary Heat Sink configuration, if the Answer to (1) above is NO.

I'll bet they are 'rarin' to go.

Snorkle & PeriScope Length

Does the SCE SONGS Control Room have a Snorkle & PeriScope installed of Length (A)?

Or is this a 神風, 特別攻撃隊, 特攻隊, 特攻 'Kamikaze Mission'?

In the year 1281, Japan was under attack by a Mongol invasion — led by the powerful Kublai Khan. However, just as it appeared that the invading Mongols were about to overwhelm the Japanese, a catastrophic typhoon swept through the land, eliminating the entire Mongol army. From that point on, the typhoon that saved Japan became known as the Kamikaze or Divine Wind.
A typical pilot was a science student in his twenties.

Do ANY of the Hospitals in a 75 Mile semicircle about the plant have washdown decontamination capabilities for > 5,000 people per hour?

Do ANY of the Hospitals in a 75 Mile semicircle about the plant have > 75,000 doses of KI and Radiogardase (Insoluble Prussian blue) in Stock?

Oh YEAH, the Left Coast is really ready for a nuclear disaster.

Ready, Willing and ABLE.

LOL

Fire!

Suppose the local Fire Marshall paid a visit, with copyies of the National and Local Fire Codes.

What are the chances that the SO NPP could pass either code?

Answer: Zero, unless the Fire Marshall was blind, crippled, crazy, intoxicated & paid off.

Yep,

Fire that MUTHA UP!

Cook up some Lectricity!

Time is Money!

The NPP Industry really cracks me up. They could not collectively operate a day care center within the law.

SCE cannot defend SONGS

SCE cannot defend SONGS

Let’s be realistic here. SCE cannot defend the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS), against a terrorist or commando attack, by land, air and/or sea. Any reasonably proficient SWAT Team could easily breach SONGS. There is no credible SONGS aerial defense system that would withstand a two (2) drone attack. I could continue, but why bother. USA NPP defense systems are NUN too good.

Five years on, new details emerge about Israeli strike on Syrian reactor

Mossad agents broke into the home of a Syrian top official in Vienna and copied dozens of photographs of the secret facility, bombed in 2007.
